Gundham hummed to show he was listening, occupying himself with his Devas rather than actively listening to Mahiru. Honestly he'd had enough of this conversation a while ago. He wasn't just going to send her away though. She wouldn't much like that and it would be rude since they were talking about Sonia.
"Is there anything that she talked about that might tell us why she went through with it?" Mahiru asked, a gloomy expression over her face at the thought that she might've just not picked up on the signs.
Gundham thought for a moment. Sonia didn't really talk about many things in a negative light. If she did, he couldn't quite remember. "There was always her love of murder." He suggested, handing seeds to each of his hamsters. "And she talked of her kingdom, but that was all quite positive. I suppose–..." oh that's right. What seemed to bother her most was Kazuichi. It all circled back to the mechanic, didn't it? Everyone knew that she experienced discomfort because of him, but Gundham wasn't about to throw his beloved under the bus. He wanted Kazuichi to be happy after all. But...then again...it couldn't hurt if he never found out.
"I suppose she did often mention the pink-haired one negatively." What was he doing? He didn't want Kazuichi to be depressed like that. Losing people over this. But letting people believe he's a cause–which by technicality, he was–would leave the mechanic so vulnerable. Alone and desperate. Unloved and forgotten.
Perfectly his.Mahiru's expression grew sour at the mention of the boy. "Well I guess that's no surprise. Geez, that guy really is a pain..." it was hard to tell if she believed any of those were influences, but she definitely seemed to dislike the sound of the suggestions.
"Wait, so she killed herself because of some pathetic and annoying virgin?" Hiyoko seemed to perk up at the idea. "I thought she was gonna have a better reason. Dying over some loser is just—"
"Hiyoko!" Mahiru interrupted, obviously annoyed. "You shouldn't talk about the dead like that. I thought we already talked about this."
The shorter girl stared at her, looking away with a small apology. "I'm right, though. Even if he didn't do it, I'm blaming him."
