Today was like any other day. Kazuichi was sitting in class and gazing at the blonde girl that was just a few seats in front of him; Miss Sonia Nevermind. She was his dream girl and he had been pining after her as long as he could remember. Because of his constant pining after this particular girl, he had never noticed who he considered to be his 'love rival' staring at him; the only time he would glance away from the female was to nudge his friend beside him and tell him how gorgeous she was.
Kazuichi had been trying to build up his courage for so long now. He wanted to ask her out on a date. Of course he would flirt with her regularly but attempting to ask her out properly was quite nerve racking in his opinion."Today's the day!! I'm going to ask Miss Sonia out on a date!" Kazuichi exclaimed, nudged Fuyuhiko and flashing him a large shark-tooth grin. He didn't expect his friend to be positive about it, he never seemed to be, he would just simply judge him and call him names, but he still would tell him everything.
Fuyuhiko stared at him a moment, rolling his eyes. "Well, I'm here for your heartbreak."
Everyone knew how obvious it was that Sonia just wasn't interested. Moreover, however Kazuichi went about it, it sort of came off as creepy. Though, it's not like Fuyuhiko was about to stop his best friend from making this decision. No matter how hard anyone tried, Kazuichi was completely deaf to any judgement on the matter. Hopefully, being rejected like this could probably act as a wake up call to him to just pursue someone else, so he was all here to watch him get his heart broken. Again.
Well, maybe he'd just take it as 'playing hard to get' which was the opposite effect they wanted. Though, Sonia might accept the offer just to be nice, which would only screw with Kazuichi more. Why were these things so difficult?
"Look, just...don't take it too personally if she says no alright?"
"Why would she say no to me?!" Kazuichi glanced at him with a wide, enthusiastic grin. Although he was growing more familiar with the words of rejection from this female, he wasn't one to give up. He knew that if he kept trying, eventually she would have to agree to go out with him, right? The mechanic was barely paying attention at all to his class, closing his eyes to simply fantasise about being with the princess. He longed for her so desperately and he never seemed to have given up hope on pursuing her. Perhaps in some ways that determination was a good thing.
As soon as the bell rang, Kazuichi eagerly stood up from his chair, practically running up to Sonia before she could exit the class. "Hey, Miss Sonia! Can I...uh...have the pleasure of you going out on a date with me?!" He asked with his usual wide shark-toothed grin. He didn't really have a way with words, but he attempted to sound somewhat formal for the princess, he thought it would give him more of a chance with her.
Sonia stared at him for a moment, a kind yet blank expression on her face at the question. He couldn't be serious, right? Though, this was Kazuichi...no matter how hard she tried to show disinterest, he'd always come back. And now a part of her feared that if she just said no, he would try even harder like he had before. Sonia hated to admit she was actually considering going through with it. After all, saying she wasn't interested after this could help convince him to back off.
He just needed the right push...right?
The princess seemed to think for a moment, clasping her hands together and giving Kazuichi a warm smile. "I would be delighted to join you, classmate Souda!" She couldn't believe she'd actually said that. Honestly, she found it might be a little rude to flat out turn him down, plus it could be a good opportunity to address his behaviour.Yeah, this could actually be good.
Kazuichi's smile had only widened as his eyes seemed to sparkle at the words. He had been expecting yet another rejection. Maybe Sonia finally did like him back! He knew that if he kept trying, one day she would finally accept.
"Thank you, Miss Sonia!!" He replied, clasping his hands together. He honestly hadn't thought this far ahead, after all, he wasn't expecting Sonia to actually agree, no matter how high his hopes were. He knew that tomorrow was Saturday, so he was going to be free all day and he hoped that the princess would be too. "How about dinner tomorrow night?!"
"Dinner?" She nervously laughed, trying to keep her face as sweet as possible. Kazuichi could be a little much sometimes, but overall he was trying to be nice. Sonia always figured it'd be for the best to let him down gently, though with his attitude, that seemed to be getting harder to do. "Actually, I should be at home for dinner. How about lunch?" She clasped her hands together, thinking about how she could tell him to basically cut all attempts at getting with her. Kazuichi was her classmate so she wanted to be nice about it, but she also knew he probably needed something a little harsher at this point from her directly. Writing him a note along with it might work.
Kazuichi quickly nodded his head at her suggestion. Although he thought dinner was more romantic, he was going to take absolutely any chance he could get to go on a date with her. "It's a date, then!" He happily waved her off before almost skipping out of the classroom. He was completely ecstatic, and he simply couldn't wait for this lunch. He had to prepare things! Try to find some nice clothes— did he even have any?
