#ANTHONY-BRIDGERTON

Storyline: You attend the Conservatory Ball, hoping to catch the viscount's attention.

Pairings: Anthony x Reader
Status: Attraction

"You look magnificent, my dear," your mother speak. You look at yourself, "Yes, Madame Delacroix has outdone herself, once again."

You enter the ball, following your sister's footsteps. Your eyes scan the room for that one particular pair of brown eyes. At last, there he is; the viscount.

You knew better not to approach him, but rather let him come to you. So, you smile and accept to dance with a couple of suitors, filling your dance card up until that very last line.

You decide to enjoy the view from the window, and the viscount sees you. "Miss. Y/L/N," he says, and politely nods. "Lord Bridgerton," you curtsied.

"Enjoying the stars? The weather has been a gift lately," he starts to converse. You smile and look straight into his eyes, "You wish to talk about the weather, my Lord?"

"Isn't it an appropriate subject?"

"Well, yes. However, I thought you'd engage in something a little more mentally challenging." The viscount seems to be surprised by your remark.

"What would you like to converse about?"

"I do not know. Perhaps about your interests, what kind of books do you like to read? I enjoy a good Walpole."

"You read?"

You chuckle, "Amongst other things. I am more than a pretty face, my Lord."

"Yes. I believe you have been quite busy on the dancefloor," he started. Has he been observing me? You thought. "So, I've been told," he then adds quickly. He seems nervous, you thought, again.

"Miss. Y/L/N," a suitor interrupted your conversation with the viscount. "Would you do me the honors?"

"Lord Byron, I would be delighted, but I must decline. My dance card is already full," you curtsied as he nods. "Very well. Perhaps when the next ball comes, you will save me a line." He leaves.

You turn back towards Lord Bridgerton, who just stares at you, frowning. "You still have one line on your dance card," he points. "Yes, you are quite observant."

"Why have you declined?"

"I am saving the last line for someone special, my Lord." Your statement caught him off-guard. "Has he not asked you yet?"

You smiled and he smiled back, but it didn't reach his eyes. Lord Bridgerton was bothered by something. You gazed at him for a moment before saying, "No, I am afraid not. I believe he much rather talk about the weather."

His smile now reached his eyes. His jaw appears to tighten, "Miss. Y/N Y/L/N, would you do me the honors of having your last dance?"

You take his offered hand, "It would be my honor."
