Storyline: With demons on the loose, the only way to stop them from entering and exiting the city is for you to close the gate of hell.
"What's the plan?" Isabelle asks Alec. He takes out the city's blueprints. Ever since Jonathan opened the gate, demons have been coming in like crazy.
"Y/N and Jace will cover the city's perimeter. You and I will stay close to the institute. We're going to kill as many demons possible while they will be hunting down the leader of the clan. Luke got the Jade Wolf area covered. Any questions?"
You speak up, "what if we kill the leader and demons are still coming out?"
"We'll gather back here and find another way. Anything else?" You look at Alec making your way through Jace's face. He smiles at you. "Let's get them."
You and Jace walk around the city after activating your invisibility rune. "Tell me why we're always going on missions together?" You suddenly ask breaking the silence between the two of you. You weren't complaining, you knew why you were always teamed up but, you wanted to hear it from Jace's mouth.
"Oh, you know what kind of team we form. Plus, I might have talked to Alec a little." You laugh as he stares at you. You loved Jace with all your heart but, every time you two tried it was always bad timing so you decided to take things slow and one thing at a time. "Y/N! Duck!"
You duck as his sword passes over your head. "Where the hell did this one come from?" You look around and catch a glimpse of a demon. You examine the collar around its neck. "Jace, Jace, look. Red collar," you point towards the leader's direction.
"Stay back, I got this."
"Jace, come on." You roll your eyes and tighten the grip you have on your sword. Jace charges forward while you do a front flip over the demon. Jace activates his angelic runes and pushes his sword into the demon's chest. You push yours into its back. You and Jace caught an eye and you smile at each other. "Damn, this feels good."
You and Jace make your way back to the institute laughing about something Simon told you. "I was the only one who could see you and Simon thought I was going insane. He suggested a psychiatrist."
"It was a good night."
"Why is that?"
"It's the night we met," Jace smiles. You both enter the institute meeting with Alec and Isabelle. Alec pulls out the city's map.
"What the hell? Didn't you say the leader was killed?" You observe the black figures multiplying by the second. "Alec, we did. Something's not right and it has nothing to do with the leader."
Jace, Alec, and Isabelle try to find another solution. You move away from the group and dial a number. "Magnus, I need you. I think the thing you told me last week is happening, now."
"I'm going through a portal, I should be here in any seconds-" Magnus travels through a portal.
"Magnus!" Alec hugs him.
"Alexander, it's good to see you."
You cough making Alec stare at you. "Y/N called and told me what is happening. You might not know this but, the gate of hell is open. This is why demons keep escaping even if you killed the leader."
"How do we close it?" You and Magnus had discussed this a week ago when you found the prophecy journal that belonged to your mother. "This is the tricky part. To close the gate of hell, you need to kill the last generation of the person who created it."
"Wait a second, the last generation of the person who created it, this means it's-" Isabelle turns to you. "Y/N, no."
"No. No, it can't be right." Alec, for the first time, looks towards you with pleading eyes.
You look at Jace who hasn't spoken a word yet. "I won't kill you. We won't kill you."
"Jace, it's not your decision to make. Let me do this, please. I'm the only one who can stop this. You would do the same. So, let me do this." You touch his cheek and you felt his surrender.
"How?"
"Through a mortal portal. As soon as she will cross it, the gate will close and will never be open again."
Alec helps Magnus with the spell of the portal, while Izzy read the procedure. You told everyone your good-byes except for Jace.
You watch him walk towards you. "Hey."
"I still don't want you to do this." He says.
"Jace-"
"Y/N! You have to go, now!" Magnus shouts as he holds the portal open.
Tears started to build up in your eyes. You stare at Jace and grab his face kissing him. "I love you, Jace, hold on to that." He kisses you back. "I love you too, Y/N." You run to the portal and turn around once you've reached it. Jace watches you with tears in his eyes.
You smile and enter the portal.
