You were in class talking about history like you usually do. This time something actually made sense to you and it was hard for you to face it. "I believe in you Maya. People don't always get the choice but you do."
"You know it's the first time-"
"No, I tell you all the time." Maya looks at Lucas. For a long moment. You hated that.
"Woah, is it just me or it's getting kind of hot?" Zay says, which didn't really help your case.
"Bay window! Tonight, be there or be square." Maya looks at you with worried eyes. "We need to talk."
"Y/N, I don-" you stop your best friend.
"No, no Maya. We'll deal later," you look straight ahead not giving her one glance.
"But, Y/N, I thought we were going to the movies tonight," Lucas says.
"Well," you sigh. "I am deeply sorry Lucas but I can't tonight. Not anymore, and it wouldn't be right huh?"
"What?"
"Let it be, dear friend, she's a lady!" Farkle warns Lucas.
"No, I won't let it be. Y/N, I was looking forward to our date."
"Excuse me? A date? Young lady, you said it would be a friend night out." Your father drops his chalk and looks at you. You couldn't help to smile at him. "You love me, daddy!"
Ring! Ring! Ring!
"Will you look at that, school is over! Maya go."
"The bay window, we have a lot of memories here, don't we Maya?"
"Mhm."
"A lot of secrets too, don't we Maya?"
"Mhm."
"Then why didn't you tell me you liked Lucas?"
"I don't like Huckleberry."
You laugh then lost your happy emotions. "Maya."
"FINE! I didn't tell you because you liked him first. And, it wouldn't be right."
You look at Maya who was looking at her hands. "Y/N, I don't know what to say to you. I feel like I have to watch my words from now on. I don't want to lose you."
You smile and take her hand, "you won't."
The next day was weird, knowing your best friend liked the same boy as you like. You already told Farkle about the situation, not Lucas because he'd be ma- "How dare you tell Farkle but not me? I'm the guy in the middle! I should know about things like that. I'm that bottom line in this triangle!"
"Farkle!"
"A man is there for his other man friend? Ya, no I got nothing. He needed to know, I'm sorry."
Lucas was glaring at you. "Why are you staring at me like that? You shouldn't be mad at me?"
You stopped talking, once you noticed Maya was behind. "I'm mad at you for thinking that I'm interested in someone other than you! I mean sure Maya is my good friend, and we talk, but not like you and I talk."
"Lucas, can we not do this right now?"
"No! I want you to continue, huckleberry. Go on, go on."
Lucas looks at you then at Maya. "You're likable, you're a great friend who we can count on, you'll always have our backs, always, that's what a friend to me is but," now he was looking at you. "You, you're lovable. You make me smile just by being there, and when we talk, I could talk to you for hours. About anything. And, this is the most important thing in a relationship."
