"Do I really need to go see Derek? It's my Sunday off, Scott." You beg your brother to stay home, instead of going to see Derek at his place.
"Y/N, he wants to talk to you. And, as the alpha of the pack I order you to go see him," he winks and showed his red eyes. You smile and give in. Anyways, it's not like you hated Derek, you liked his company. You knew when you were with him you were always going to be safe and protected. And, his smell was like heaven.
"Fine, but I'm taking your motorcycle. Adios." You say and sprint out the door with his keys in hand before he could object. He growls at you but you didn't mind, after all, it was only your brother and 10 minutes away from your house.
Derek must have heard the motor sound because as soon as you crossed his field he was on his porch waiting for you. His place gave you chill, you still wondered why he invited you over to his old house and not the loft. "Y/N," he greets taking your helmet.
"Let's get started, why did you want to talk?"
He first takes a seat on his old, broken couch and looks at you silently. "Do you know what mating is?"
"Yeah, it's when two werewolves find their mate. This also means they belong together, they have a sudden attraction toward one another. Usually, the male always protects the female when they're in life and death situations. Scott mentioned it, a couple of times. Why are you asking?"
"You might not believe me, but it's okay." He closes his hands together and looks up at you. The next thing he said was unexpected. "Y/N, I found my mate."
"Really? I'm happy for you! Who is it?" You ask oblivious to the answer. He laughs then suddenly stops realizing you weren't joking.
"It's you, Y/N. You're my mate."
"What?"
"When we first met, there was already a connection. I didn't focus on that because I thought it was normal then Peter told me the symptoms you have when you found your mate and turns out I have all the symptoms when I'm with you. And, you can't say you don't feel anything. I mean, what do you feel when you're around me?"
"I-I feel safe and protected. I know that everything you do is to keep me safe from all the hunters, in the woods. And, I also like being around you. But, what're your symptoms?" You curiously ask.
"My heartbeat rises, my palms start to get sweaty, I always make sure you're around me, and more importantly my eyes flash when I see you." You were silent for a minute, you didn't know what to say to him nor do.
"Okay, is the feeling suppose to be mutual?"
"Yes, but it's different for the female. She needs to like my smell." You smile.
"I do like your smell, Derek." His hands stop trembling as he looks at you. "So, I guess we're mates."
You were happy you found your mate, and even happier that it was Derek.
