On the roof above, still half-leaning over the edge with his hand out still trying to reach for Wanda's hand, the Doctor let out a shaking breath as he watched his love fall. His hearts twisted and his breath froze as coldness washed over him. He could only stare in horror as Wanda gazed back at him, eyes filled with fear. Hope went through him as he saw the edges of the white light around her body. Yes, she would be fine. The white light would take her away, far away from here. She would be safe. She would always be safe. Alpha would save her. But then his hope dimmed as the white light seemed to falter and fade. No. No. No!

A sickening thud came when Wanda's body finally hit the concrete below. Her body crumbled against the ground, one arm lying beside her head, the other twisted underneath her as if the hand had tried to instinctively cushion her fall. Her legs almost laid straight out from her body, but with a slight curve in how they lie.

The Doctor began to shake as he stared down at his Wanderer, seeing the blank stare she gave back to the rest of them still above and looking below. Suddenly, he jerked up, ignoring the rest as he ran to the opening to the roof. He did not care to pay attention to how Amy and Rory both shook their heads, clearly in uttered disbelief and denial. How the robotic Teselecta stood there stiffly, staring blanking down at the sight. Or even how Melody held a hand to her mouth, looking ready to be sick. All he cared about and focused on was getting to his Wanderer and making certain she was okay. She just had to be okay.

It seemed he reached down stairs in record time, running the entire way down and out of the building. He skidded to a halt when he came up to Wanda's body just outside the door. Standing there for a moment, shaking his head as he looked at the blank, dull, gray eyes of Wanda, he fell to his knees beside her.

"Wanda?" he breathed. At first, he hesitated, hands hovering over her as if afraid to touch her. Then he brushed back hair from her face, cupping her cheeks as gently as he could. "Hey, I'm here. Everything's all right now." He stared at her, searching for some sort of recognition in her eyes. Even for that sparkle in her irises that he always loved looking at. But there was only a dull stare in her unblinking eyes. He hurriedly pulled the one arm out from under her, noticing briefly that it was broken as he held her hand, gripping onto it with a tight hold. "It's okay. It's okay, see? You can regenerate now. I'm here, see? You're fine. You're all right. It wasn't that far from the ground. Time Lords . . . can survive that fall just fine. Right, Wanda?"

The more he spoke, the more broken his voice became. He began to tremble as he gripped the limp hand in his own. His breath hitched as he saw no movement from his Wanderer.

"Wanderer? Wanderer, please," he said, gasping as he tried speaking through his thick voice, holding back the sobs that were caught in his throat. Tears began leaking down his face as he let go of her hand and pulled Wanda's sagging body up into his arms, cupping her face as he began to rock her. "Come on, Wanda. Come on, stay with me. Please. P-please, please, don't leave me." His rocked slightly faster as more tears ran down his cheeks and onto the pale ones of Wanda. The more he stared at her, the paler she seemed to become, with her unblinking eyes still gazing dully at him. No spark. No life. His Wanderer . . . was gone. "No. No, Wanderer, no. No, no, no, no. Please, no. N-n-no." He began to openly sob as he held her lifeless body to his chest, cradling her head in his hands.

Soon, the others caught up to the scene.

Amy and Rory stopped short when seeing the sight before them. Wanda in the Doctor's arms, eyes still open and unmoving. The Doctor cried, pleading in whispering breathes for her to stay with him. Not to leave him behind. Not ever. The way he pleaded and begged for her life . . . it was heartbreaking. The Teselecta, still disguised as Amy, came marching out soon after, halting a step away from Amy and Rory as it seemed the crew within the android form observed the scene at hand.
