"Would you do me the honors?" She asked him, a playful smile endowing her lips, as she caressed a beautiful swing of necklace with an alluring little dark emerald dangling elegantly in the middle, in all its glory. It was perfect. Everything was perfect so far.
He gently smiled at her. She looked into his eyes. His eyes. That she lost. She couldn't look away. She was frozen under his scrutiny. The way those Cheshire eyes held her as she looked into them as though she was the only person in the world.
His eyes held the whole universe, that she fell for. Countless lost galaxies that she found herself slowly drowning into. The way his lips arch when he smiles. Those dimples when he smiles, she could live in. She fell for his every insignificant detail. All his perfect imperfections.
He was more beautiful than any Aphrodite.
He was the epitome of an Adonis.
He smiled again, this time more warmly. She returned it, maybe more than she intended to. He took the necklace from her hand. His fingers lightly grazed hers, ever so delicately. Shivers ran down her spine as she felt the coldness of his hands. She couldn't help but freak out at mere trivialities and all he ever did was smile. It made her wonder if she was that naive and gullible in his love.
Love? It's strange how they came from being silent seatmates to this. Two years ago, she gave away her heart to this young guy. She still remembered the way his Cheshire eyes bored into hers. It was a little awkward but heart fluttering at the same time.
It was the day; he was first introduced to their class. Beautiful he was, but he also looked high-spirited. She looked up at him, overwhelmed by the compelling aura around him, without understanding it. The moment she laid her eyes on him, something flickered within, perhaps an emotion. Maybe it was their flickering moment. And she remembers how she couldn't peer her eyes off his lovely face.
He was the most beautiful thing she ever beheld. His dazzling charms enticed her brutally. She wanted to get close to him. She recalled him gracefully walking her way and swiftly taking his seat beside her. A gush of coldness engulfed her upon his arrival.
They had a test that day and she had forgotten her pencil case at home. Clumsy her. She already made up her mind that she was going to sit idle and trail needless etches on the table before a wooden pencil came into her vision. He had slid his pencil onto her table whilst glancing at his test paper.
Sometimes little gestures bring about big changes, much like the butterfly effect. She thought he was cute, and started to pay more attention to the pale boy. He became her favorite subject of interest and she would spend hours glancing at his broad back, hoping for his one glimpse.
As the days passed by, he started making small conversations, most of which consisted of him asking about math equations. Oh boy, he didn't have to embarrass her like that. Only if she had been paying attention in maths class instead of gazing at him.
He began to feel at ease in her presence. He was no more that timid kid when he was around her. He was beginning to act more like himself. And she was gradually losing herself. Only if she had known about the turmoil he would be bringing into her life, she might have thought twice before staring at him all day like that.
She was, however, too late to stop herself from falling into an abyss named Yang Jungwon.
