Jungwon cocked his head over his shoulder at that instant

Jungwon cocked his head over his shoulder at that instant. She mustered up her courage to tell him her thoughts that she had been keeping back for years. Was it really happening? She still wondered. Will she be able to call him hers?

He remained silent, waiting for her to say something. Realizing that she would not utter anytime soon, he turned around. This time, fully diverting his attention toward her. She was beyond agitated.

He was staring into her eyes as if he could see deep into her soul. Was he aware of her feelings for him as well? What if he finds out and is disappointed? She couldn't bear seeing that lovely smile transform into a frown. Will he abandon her once he learns? She couldn't help but grimace as she ran through the forest of her wild and insatiable desires. What if he stops talking to her after this?

He leaned forward, his eyes filled with apprehension as if the frown had captured his attention.

"What's the matter, aubs?"

He used to call her aubs. Strange and amusing. But she liked it since he used to call her that. He always addressed people in a formal manner, but it was different when it came to her. Every time, she couldn't help but hold onto that lingering hope in her heart. Perhaps she was special to him, just as he was to her. They refer to them as "wild desires."

He gently shook her, yanking her out of her little bubble. She tends to get easily swayed when he was around her.

"Come on aubs, tell me what is it?" He was patiently waiting for her to answer. She could see the fear in his eyes. Was he worried about her? She couldn't help but desperately hope again. That was probably her cue.

"I like you, Jungwon. No... I love you! "

There, she said it.

She couldn't believe it was actually happening. Living in a one-sided love was far more bitter than she had anticipated. But she knew he didn't have his eyes for anyone else.

His hands on her shoulders slowly slid down her arms till they reached her hands. He didn't hold them. He let them go.

She looked at him, her eyes rimmed with anguish.

He just turned away from her and was ready to vanish. Vanish from her life.

She couldn't let this happen. She hurriedly brushed away an unexpected tear as she chased after him and held him back by his arm.

"Jungwon," it came out like a whisper.

It was simply too much to handle. His silence was killing her. Was he unwilling to hurt her, or was she simply hallucinating? She studied his face for any clue. But it was blank, void of any emotion. She couldn't look into his eyes because she knew if she did, she would never be able to forget his indifferent eyes. Those same Cheshire eyes that held nothing but warmth and admiration before felt foreign now. She couldn't help the tears from streaming down her cheeks.

"Jungwon, say something. I am begging you."

She knew she wouldn't be able to keep this up for long.

She saw something twitch within his eyes. But before she could even put a finger on it, it was all gone. Was it dejection? She couldn't have known. He pulled his arm from her grip. And looked away as to forgo her eyes that held nothing but desperation and frustration.

What was he thinking?
