Third Person POVConfusion filled Jake in every part of his body. Why was Kenji calling him? And why through Alyssa's phone? Jake needed to say something. "Hello?" Jake asked waiting for a response. "Hello," Kenji replied. "Why are you calling me through Alyssa's phone?" Jake asked. "I don't have your phone number," Kenji replied, "so I have to use Alyssa's phone."
"Makes sense," Jake said. Kenji sighed. "I heard about what happened," Kenji said, "are you alright." Jake giggled. "Yes, I should be fine," Jake replied. "Why did you giggle," Kenji asked. "It just seems like you're so worried about me. Like I'm a small toddler or something. I just found it a little funny."
Kenji laughed, "Whatever makes you happy." Kenji handed the phone to Alyssa. "Hello bitch," Alyssa said. "Hello Alyssa," Jake said laughing. "It's nice to hear you laugh again," Alyssa said sincerely. "And it's nice to hear your voice again," Jake replied. "Who was it that beat you up?" Kenji asked.
"Jayden Ragenzaw," Jake replied, "he's been mean to me since sophomore year." Jake hated Jayden just as much as Jayden hated him, maybe even more. "How come he's mean to you?" Kenji asked. "Well um," Jake struggled to find his words, "he's mean to me because I'm gay."
Jake expected Kenji to be shocked or at least caught off guard by the news, but he wasn't the tiniest bit surprised. "I should have known," Kenji replied, "Jayden's probably the most homophobic student at Ravencrown." Jake sighed. Jayden actually used to be somewhat nice to Jake before he came out. A part of Jake still feels guilty for hating Jayden, but things have changed now. "Remember that non-binary friend I told you about earlier today?" Kenji asked Jake. "Yeah," Jake replied, "what about it?"
"That got bullied so much by Jayden that they had to switch schools," Kenji said with slight anger in his voice. "That's terrible, "Jake replied with sorrow, "are they doing better now?"
"Yes," Kenji answered, "We still keep in touch." Jake and Kenji talked a bit more until Kenji and Alyssa had to go to the next class. "I'll give you my phone number so we can talk again," Kenji said getting his stuff. "Alright," Jake replied. Kenji gave Jake his number just like he said.
Jake saved Kenji's number as a contact on his phone. When choosing the name, Jake decided to go with "Kenji," with a teddy bear emoji. Why a teddy bear? Kenji reminded Jake of a teddy bear. Kenji was soft and calmed others down just like a teddy bear did.
Jake put on his pair of slides and went downstairs. He wanted to grab something to eat. Jamie was downstairs as well. He was homeschooled while Jake went to Ravencrown. Jamie had to be homeschooled due to a mental disability that made learning more difficult for Jamie.
"Hey Jake," Jamie said smiling. "Hey Jamie," Jake replied getting a granola bar. "Are you feeling better?" Jamie asked grabbing his lunch off the counter. "I'm feeling better," Jake answered, "I'm in less pain now." Jamie got himself a fork and went to eat his lunch. Jake took his granola bar back to his room.
Jake opened the granola bar and started eating it. He was still hungry since he didn't get to finish his lunch. Once Jake finished the granola bar he threw the wrapper and took off his slides. Jake still felt kinda dazed from being attacked, but he did feel better.
Jake decided to try and get some sleep. He was already tired, so why not? Jake took off his shirt and his pants and put them in his clothing basket. He pulled his blue blanket back and got in his bed. Jake closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
But he didn't expect the thing he woke up to...
