11: 15 A.M, Kenji's House

Third Person POV
Jake stepped inside Kenji's house. The house was big, yet it still felt cozy. "Come with me," Kenji said running up the stairs, "we can hang out in my room." Jake followed Kenji to his room where Kenji opened the door. Kenji's room had yellow walls, Kenji's favorite color. There was a bed with a brown frame and an orange blanket. And there was a shelve with a bunch of loose pieces on it like screws and nails.
"Why do you have loose parts on your shelves?" Jake asked picking up a screw. "I make things in my free time," Kenji replied, "I want to go to Bits & Bolts when I graduate."
"That's the same college I want to go to," Jake replied. "That's cool," Kenji said, "we will see each other again." Jake put the screw back on the shelf. Kenji sat on his bed where Jake would sit beside him after. "So you're gay?" Kenji asked. "Yes," Jake replied. "I've never been friends with a gay person before," Kenji said, "the only queer friends I had before you were Alyssa and the non-binary kid."
Jake smiled. "Well, I'm glad I can be your first gay friend." Kenji smiled as well. "Do you have any hobbies?" Kenji asked. "Making things," Jake answered, "what about you?"
"Besides dancing, I like making things as well," Kenji said pointing back to his shelf. Jake and Kenji asked each other a few more questions. "So," Jake said fidgeting with his fingers, "do you have a crush on anyone at school?" Kenji stuttered a little bit. "Yes," Kenji replied looking ashamed. "You don't have to tell me who," Jake said putting his arm around Kenji, "I have a crush as well."
Kenji got up and stood in front of Jake. "What are you doing?" Jake asked. Then, Kenji ran up to Jake and pushed him onto the bed while hugging him. Both boys giggled. "Has anyone told you how cute you are when you smile?" Jake asked poking Kenji's cheek. Kenji blushed. "I don't think so," Kenji replied, "has anyone told you how cute you look when you smile?"
Jake was now blushing as well. Kenji was the only person to ever make his heart flutter like this. "Probably Alyssa," Jake answered as last. The Japanese boy looked Jake in the eye with that same soft look. That same soft look that would make any straight girl or gay guy fall for him. "Alyssa does talk about your smile a lot," Kenji said. Jake looked at his phone to check the time. It was 11:45.
"I should probably get going now," Jake said getting up from Kenji's bed. "Alright," Kenji said sitting up. Jake waved Kenji goodbye. "Wait!" Kenji exclaimed as he ran over to Jake. That's when he hugged Jake, his arm around Jake's stomach. Jake smiled and patted Kenji on the head. "Okay," Kenji said letting go of Jake, "now you can leave."
Jake walked out of Kenji's room and down the stairs. He then turned to the front door and stepped out onto the front deck, and then the sidewalk. Excitement flowed through Jake as though it was blood. The hang-out went perfectly. He texted Alyssa to tell her about it.
[Jake] Hey Alyssa
[Alyssa 🌺] Hi Jake
[Jake] I just got finished hanging out with Kenji.
[Alyssa 🌺] Oh! How was it?
[Jake] Amazing. We talked about our interests, talked about crushes, and we even flirted a bit.
[Alyssa 🌺] I told you Kenji would get along with you.
[Jake] Yeah yeah, you were right
[Jake] But I seriously love him, even if he doesn't like me back.
[Jake] He would still make a great friend.
[Alyssa 🌺] You're right
[Jake] Plus, he plans to go to the same college as me!
[Alyssa 🌺] I know, he told me he wants to go to Bits & Bolts.
[Jake] Well I'm almost home, I'll talk to you later
[Alyssa 🌺] Alright, bye
[Jake] Bye
Jake entered his house and took his shoes off. He then ran up to his room and sat on his bed.
Today was a great day...
