Third Person POVJake was sitting in History class. For the first time in forever, it was a normal day. No one was being bullied, no illegal things were happening, overall just a normal day. The only thing that wasn't normal is that Kenji wasn't at school today. Jake tried texting him earlier this morning and asking where he was, but Kenji didn't respond. But Jake didn't think too much about it. He was just focused on learning about the Roman Empire. History has always piqued Jake's interest. That's why he is part of the History club.
A school security guard came into the classroom. This wasn't unusual since they usually come and patrol the school. But then the guard whispered something in the teacher's ear. The teacher, Mr. Janes, had a shocked expression on his face. "Alright everyone," the guard said, "I have something to show you guys outside." The students followed the guard into the hallway and out of the building. The guard was a tall woman with blonde hair and brown eyes. She seemed friendly so the students trusted her. When everyone went outside, Mr. Ragenzaw was getting arrested. All the students were shocked, except for David and Jake, who were in on the operation.
"Does Jayden know his dad's getting arrested?" David asked tugging on Jake's jacket. "I don't know David," Jake answered, "but I hope things will be better for him now." Mr. Ragenzaw looked livid, even if he deserved to be arrested. "Why is he being arrested?" a student asked. "I don't know," the guard replied, "but even if I did I couldn't say." The police officer put Mr. Ragenzaw in the police car and drove off. Everyone went back inside and into their respective classrooms. "Well that was unexpected," Mr. Janes joked. All the other students looked traumatized like they just watched someone get murdered. Jake tried to act the same way, but he couldn't hide the fact that he was happy Mr. Ragenzaw got arrested.
"But seriously," Mr. Janes said sitting at his desk, "does anyone know why Mr. Ragenzaw got arrested?" Jake and David looked at each other. "Should we tell him?" David asked. "I think we should," Jake said raising his hand. The teacher looked at Jake. "Do you know Jake?" Mr. Janes asked. "Yes I do," Jake answered, "Mr. Ragenzaw was arrested because he was caught abusing Jayden." Everyone was stunned, they couldn't believe what they were hearing. "That's terrible," Mr. Janes said, "I hope he's doing better now."
1:55 P.M, Ravencrown Highschool, English
The bell rang, it was time for the next class. Everyone grabbed their things and left the classroom. Jake checked his phone to see if Kenji had texted him back. There was still no reply. Jake put his phone away and sighed. Why wasn't Kenji responding? Jake walked to his next class. It was English. Jake was never the biggest fan of English, however, he definitely didn't hate it. When Jake walked in, he took a seat right next to Amelia. "Hey, Amelia," Jake said sitting down. "Hi," Amelia responded. Jake got his notebook out of his backpack and placed it on the desk.
"I thought you usually sit with Kenji," Amelia said. "Usually I would," Jake replied, "but Kenji isn't here today. I don't even know where he is." Amelia patted Jake on the shoulder. "Have you tried texting him?" Amelia asked. "I did," Jake answered, "but he didn't respond." More students started to come into the room. It was almost time for class to start. One of the students who walked in was Alyssa. "Hi, Alyssa," Jake said waving to her. "Hey, Jake," Alyssa replied. Alyssa sat in the seat behind Jake and Amelia. "Do you happen to know where Kenji is?" Jake asked Alyssa. "Kenji is sick," Alyssa answered, "he's staying home today." Jake was relieved. "Alright then," Jake said,
"I'll go check on him after school..."
