Third Person POV

Jake and Kenji hanged out again on Sunday. They did the same things as the previous day. The only difference is that they flirted even more than last time. It was obvious Jake liked Kenji. And it was obvious that Kenji was interested in Jake. Neither of them had made a move yet though. Jake still doesn't know if Kenji likes boys.

Now Jake was waiting for Kenji at his locker so they can walk to class together. Kenji walked into the building and spotted Jake. "Hey," Kenji said running up and hugging Jake. "Hi," Jake said ruffling Kenji's hair. "Mr. Riz isn't here yet, so the other students are chilling outside," Kenji said fixing his hair. "Alright, I'm guessing you want to go there," Jake replied. "I mean, only if you want to go," Kenji said. "I'm fine with it," Jake said grabbing his phone, we still have 25 minutes."

"I knew it," someone whispered. Jake looked around to see who said it. "What's wrong?" Kenji asked. "Nothing," Jake answered, "go ahead and go outside, I'll meet you there in a bit." Jake hugged Kenji again and Kenji walked outside. Jake continued searching for who whispered. He heard it come from the half-wall that separates the lockers on both sides of the hallway.

Jake stepped towards the half-wall and looked behind it. There, he saw two girls hiding behind the wall. "Hi," Jake said waving his hand. "Hey," the black-haired girl said. "I'm Jake," he pointed to his name tag. "I'm Lily," said the black-haired girl. "And I'm Amelia," said the blonde girl. "So were you two spying on me?" Jake asked laughing. "Well, she was," Amelia said in an emotionless tone, "I was just dragged into this." Lily hit Amelia jokingly. "Don't out me like that babe."

"Babe?" Jake said confused. "Oh yeah," Lily said with excitement in her eyes, "she's my girlfriend." Jake smiled, "I wish I could be as open as you guys." Amelia stood up and patted Jake on the head. "You're the gay kid, right," Amelia asked. "Yes I am," Jake answered. "Do you have a crush on Kenji?" Lily asked standing up. "Oh!" Jake exclaimed, "that came out of nowhere." Jake twittered his fingers. "Though yes, I do have a crush on Kenji."

Lily walked up to Jake and took him by the hand. "If I had to guess, you get bullied by Jayden too," Lily said. "Yes I do," Jake replied sadly. "Don't worry about Jayden," Amelia said, "he's probably just upset that I broke up with his ass last year." Both Jake and Lily laughed. "I promise Kenji I'd meet him outside," Jake said, "so I should probably get going."

"Okay," Lily said smiling, "it was great talking to you." Jake waved the girls goodbye and ran outside. Jake saw Kenji sitting on a bench reading a book. Jake snuck up on Kenji and sat beside him. "What are you reading?" Jake asked. "It's a gay romance novel," Kenji answered. "You like gay romance?" Jake asked. "Yeah," Kenji replied, "I've liked it since I was little."

"I like it too," Jake said, "it's nice to see someone like me in the media." Kenji put his arm around Jake. "That's true, I'm glad it's becoming more mainstream." Jake and Kenji talked a bit more before they had to go to Mr. Riz for Algebra. Jake walked in after Kenji. Almost everyone was there. "Jake," Mr. Riz exclaimed, "I would like to talk with you." All the students did their little oohs before Mr. Riz told them to cut it out like usual.

"I heard about what happened on Friday," Mr. Riz said touching Jake's hand, "are you ok?" Jake smiled, "yeah I'm fine." Mr. Riz was one of the only people at Ravencrown who didn't judge Jake for being gay. "Well," Mr. Riz said, "if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm always available." Jake thanked him and took his seat, it seemed like his life was finally going well again.

Only for him to come home to the worst possible news...
