They mostly stayed at home, arrived of going back to college, getting ambushed by reporters and getting kidnapped by those. . . Puppets.

Host reached into their old desk and pulled out Scott, the hand Puppet they managed to find and salvage before any other Puppet like Riley got ahold of them.
Host pulled out the Puppet and grabbed a needle and thread, taking the arm that they managed to give new stuffing to the arm and Scott, threw them in a washing machine and managed to stitch up Scott with better materials.

"Host?"
They smiled; They did it!
Scott looked around, now in a bedroom,"Are we. . . Did we?", Host nods, Scott was shocked and even if they couldn't cry their shaking hands and jaw said it all,"Host. . . .! Thank you. . .! Thank you, Thank you!. . .",Host gave Scott a pat on the head, finally Scott got to see a room in the human world and was even outside it!
Host opened the curtain, Scott was taken it back by outside; the sun, the sky, the grass and houses.
