TW: GORE WARNING!

━━ THE NIGHT VISION GOGGLES THAT NAT AND XIOMARA ADORNED OVER THEIR EYES allowed them to see in the dark, which was quite needed. It was later at night, which meant that walking around in the dark was a stupid idea. Especially if you're wandering around in the dark when you're right in front of HYDRA's headquarters.
The headquarters were quite big, but they masked themself as a government building. No one questions government buildings. It was a perfect, inconspicuous lie.
Except it wasn't, at least, not for S.W.O.R.D and S.H.I.E.L.D.
Nat and Xiomara snuck around the back, using the shadows to their advantage. Nat's fiery red hair was slicked back and retained by a black ponytail holder, which made her subtle.
When they approached the wall, they stuck to it and prayed that a HYDRA agent wouldn't catch them. When it came time to enter, Xiomara pulled out a small device that scanned the secret doors. The little screen showed the pressure points and where to place the password.
She lifted a small panel on the tungsten wall, revealing a keypad. She pressed in the correct code, which ended up being '12-3-10-28.' The doors separated, the two women cautiously and stealthily entering. They aimed their guns, their pointer fingers on the triggers. They watched as the doors revealed a set of stairs that led down and into the dark.
"Please don't let your claustrophobia kick in right now, Romanoff." Xiomara muttered as she gradually stepped into the dark, Nat following. "It won't. Just shut up and it won't."
Xiomara obeyed as she scanned the area around them. "We're clear down here. At least, so far, over." She whispered into the earpiece that was buried into her ear. Nat stepped further into the dark, the tanned woman following. They ended up walking down a long hallway, longer than they expected to walk.
They stopped in front of another door, this time it was jet-black. Xiomara's gloved hand inched towards the knob, but paused when a giant spike broke through it. "Uh oh." She muttered before the bright lights flashed on one by one. The high exposure from the goggles mixed with the light from the ceiling nearly blinded the two women. They ripped the goggles off of their faces before blinking sporadically.
"Motherfucker..." Nat muttered as she looked at the walls. Small holes opened up in them, the holes reminding Nat of the end of a gun. So, what happened next didn't shock her.
"Move!" The Russian redhead pulled on the collar of Xiomara's vest, dragging her to the door with the spike. Their backs leaned against the cool obsidian and watched as a flurry of tiny bullets ran into the opposite walls. Xiomara unconsciously held her breath as she waited for the little darts of death to pass, but it felt like they never would.
