━━ "SO, WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR NEW HOME, ROMANOFF?" Xiomara unlocked the door before Nat pushed her wheelchair inside. "Cozy," Her eyes scanned the living room. "But not in the obnoxious-rich-way-cozy. I mean like the genuine-home-sweet-home cozy."

"Glad you think so." A grin covered Xiomara's lips. "Now, what do you do for fun, Miss Romanoff?"

"I do a lot of reading." Nat lifted Xiomara out of the chair, holding the woman bridal-style. "Yeah, ok, Golden Girl." She scoffed before letting her head rest on Nat's shoulder. She allowed the redhead to carry her down the hallway, the light thump of Nat's heartbeat serving as a comfort.

"I'm old because I like to read. Seriously?"

"Yes."

"That's normal. People like to read." The redhead scoffed playfully before opening a random door.

"Um, honey?" Xiomara snickered. "This is the bathroom."

"Sorry I don't know the entire layout of your house."

"Try the next door, love."

She stepped to the right, opening the door to reveal Xiomara's room. "Your bed is so big." Nat's eyes widened before letting the two sink into the comforter. "Well, it's not just my bed!" The tanned woman giggled, rotating to face Nat. "It's yours too- what'd you think, I was gonna let you sleep on an air mattress or something?"

"Really?" Nat's face seemed to light up with excitement. The brunette's gaze softened, a heavyweight placing itself on her chest. She knew why Nat got so excited at the thought of a big, soft bed. Why she was so happy to finally feel comfortable. Why Nat had a small girlish smile on her face. If Xiomara hadn't known about her past, she could ignore it and continue in bliss. But since she did know, her happiness faltered.

"What happened, aнгел? (angel?)" Nat's hands made their way to Xiomara's chin, cupping the woman's face. She used her thumbs to massage Xiomara's cheeks.

"I'm just lucky to be laying beside a beautiful bombshell like you." Xiomara nuzzled into Nat, letting the woman wrap her arms around her.

"Mhm, that was a lie, but I like the compliment." Nat rested her chin on the top of the brunette's head.

"Daisies." Nat said after a moment.

"Daisies?" She looked up at the redhead.

"You smell like daisies."

"You shouldn't be standing in the kitchen for so long." Nat rubbed her eyes groggily, stepping into the kitchen while pushing unruly hair out of her face. "You literally just got knee surgery."
