━━ THE NEXT MORNING, Xiomara lay awake in her bed, staring at the dark ceiling. She couldn't see anything, but it didn't matter. She bit her upper lip as she reflected on her situation. Robots, radiation, revolvers...

Nat.

She then realize that she hadn't heard her parents' voices in weeks. She didn't really want to; the pain that would be in their voices would be unbearable. Still, Xiomara knew that it had to be done. Besides, she missed Felisa and Jasiel as much as they missed her. So, she bit her upper lip nervously before speaking.

"JARVÍS?" She called to the 'man' in the ceiling.

"Yes, Agent?"

"Puede- ¿Vas a llamar a mis padres por mí?" Can you- will you call my parents for me? She requested weakly, her voice strained with exhaustion.

"Si, se puede." Yes, it can be done. JARVIS agreed. A minute of silence passed before the sound of Jasiel's agony pierced Xiomara's ears.

"Coño, Xiomara! ¿Que rayos?! ¿Por qué no nos llamaste y nos dijiste lo que pasó? ¡¿Por qué no nos informaste?!" Damn it, Xiomara! What the hell?! Why didn't you call and tell us what happened?! Why didn't you keep us informed?!" Jasiel screamed, and Xiomara could hear the lack of sleep in his voice. Instead of mustering the courage to answer, all she could do was break down. Her words evaporated into sobs that rocked her injured body, and she could only look down at her lap.

"¡Lo siento! Lo siento, Papá, ¡pero no quería ponerte a ti ni a Mamá en peligro! No pensé que nos iríamos por tanto tiempo, y- y-" I'm sorry! I'm sorry, Dad, but I didn't want to put you or Mom in harm's way! I didn't think we'd be gone for so long, and- and- Her words dissolved into stutters and sobs. "No sabía que me iría por tanto tiempo." I didn't know I'd be gone for so long.

Jasiel had nothing left to say. Normally, she could look to her parents for solid advice. Advice that saved her a thousand times. But now? What could he even say in this situation? Xiomara hadn't even mentioned her maybe-girlfriend yet. How would Felisa and Jasiel react to news like that?

"Solo- ¿cuándo puedo verte?" Just- when can I see you?

"No lo se..." Xiomara sniffled, rubbing her reddened eyes. "Lo siento, Papá..."

"Xiomara, solo..." Jasiel's voice lowered. "Avísanos cuando puedas decirnos vainas." Xiomara, just... let us know when you can tell us things.

"Yes, Papa." Xiomara looked down at her hand, which had a slight shake to it. She could only assume that her nervousness met her injury. She turned on her side, staring out of the window. As tears collided with the pillow, she heard a knock come from the other side of the door. She had no energy to talk to people, so she ignored the aggravating noise. To her dismay, the knocking only got louder.
