This weekend was a strange one. We went from celebrating Zion's relationship to an impromptu blind date with Lexi's cousin. Now we were all at Evans' house trying to throw an impromptu housewarming party. At this point, I would do anything to avoid thinking about Zion running into his father and the mistress at the mall.

Emma explained everything she heard to me and Evans and we figured it was a complete coincidence. At least Mr Rivera wasn't pretending to care like he would before. Zion has been running away from home for years. His father did nothing because they knew he was at my house or at Evans, but this time was different.

I kept my distance from Emma because I couldn't trust her. It wasn't a problem that she was friends with Lexi Williams, but her vibe always felt cold. From where I sat, it was difficult to tell her motive, but it really looked like she loved Zion. Zion was happy with her. She brought out a side of him I missed since our childhood days. For Zion's sake, my feelings towards her were unimportant.

Evans ordered pizza and drinks while I tried to figure out what we should do to celebrate. Watching a movie would be great considering the mood, but Evan didn't have a Tv installed in his apartment yet. It didn't seem like he planned on getting one, since he was barely home. His sitting room already had books and papers everywhere, which I tried to clean up for him.

At school, Evans was more responsible than any of us, but at home he could be a little wild. The pizza was the first to arrive. I didn't know what drinks Evans was ordering, but I hoped alcohol was not included. It was too late. Before I could find out what we were drinking, Emma found Evans' hidden wine stash in the kitchen cupboard and began pouring herself a glass without permission.

Rude much?

"No, not the wine," Evas whines as he catches her.

"Why not? There's no party without drinks."

"We drank enough on Friday, our drinks would be here in a few minutes. Besides, Zion shouldn't be drinking while on meds."

He grabbed the bottle from her hand and shoved it back into the cupboard.

"Is everything ok here?" Zion said as he walked out of the room.

He was rubbing his the sleep in his eyes.

"Zion, you need to sleep more," Emma says, running to his side.

I shared a look with Evans, contemplating who should tell her he didn't need sleep. Zion looked tired because of the meds. My friend was completely fine. In a few minutes, Emma and Zion both sat on the couch, talking in whispers and staring into each other's eyes. I stood by the kitchen counter putting the Pizza on a plate while watching their display.

It was only for a few seconds, but a small part of my stomach burned in envy. Was it at Emma or their love? Unable to stop my poor decision, I reached for the glass of wine Emma poured and abandoned and drank it all in one gulp.

Evan came to help with his plates, and we were eating in no time. There was no TV, but at least he had a built-in sound system. We played music, danced and our hearts out. While we were singing out loud to Coran Grey's People Watching, I noticed Emma was nowhere to be seen. Zion was having too much fun to notice too. His eyes stopped looking tired, now replaced by his desire to have fun with his friends. This was the Zion I loved seeing the most.

Watching his happiness made me emotional, so I left for the bathroom so they wouldn't me cry. Evans never gave me a tour of the apartment, but it wasn't hard to find one. I used the bathroom in his room.

My foot paused in their step the second I opened the door. Emma was inside the room talking to someone aggressively on the Phone. She looked pretty upset, so I didn't feel good intruding. Maybe it was because I knew nothing about her and it always felt like she was hiding something. I turned away to give her privacy.
