Along with his daughter, Julie Smith. Given that Julie lives is home like this, you may think she lives in a life of luxury. But her life is anything but. Terrance is very neglectful and slightly abusive towards her. Why's that? Because he blames her for the death of his wife, Alice. You see, when Julie was three, she ended up wandering into the middle of the road while playing in their front yard. When her mother went to get her, a car drove through the street and ran her over. Flashback Julie was playing with a toy soccer ball. However, she accidentally threw into the middle of the street. When she went to into the street to retrieve it, a car began speeding through the road. Julie didn't notice it. However, her mother did notice just in time. She ran outside and pushed her out of the way just as car came near them. The car ended up nailing Alice. An ambulance was called almost immediately. Sadly, sometime after she arrived at the hospital, she passed away. End of flashback After this unfortunate incident, Terrance blamed his daughter for Alice's death, given she's the reason Alice was hit by the car in the first place.
Julie came downstairs to get something to eat Terrance was usually busy so he rarely ever cooked anything for both of them. Her dad was on his phone and had his back turned, so Julie tried to sneak into fridge to get something. However, her father caught her and grabbed her by the wrist with a stern look in face.
Terrance: What did I say about taking food from the fridge without permission?
He then gave her a hard slap in her face! She grabbed a granola bar and went back to her bedroom. She wanted to runaway so badly, but she had nowhere runaway to. She had no friends or other relatives. She had been kicked out of her school. Every time something at her school went missing, she was blamed. Eventually, she was expelled. Her father didn't want to waste any money on her to transfer her to another school. Julie decided to distract herself by turning on the T.V. It was a news report about the latest heist of a group of criminals know as "The Bad Guys". Julie really hoped she never ran into them. Later that night, Julie was still hungry, so she sneaked downstairs grab something to eat. She didn't care if she'd be yelled at the following morning, if it meant she wouldn't be hungry, it'd be worth it. But shortly after she grabbed some food, she heard someone walking towards her. She thought it was her dad so she immediately put it back. But when she turned around, while it was too dark to see, she knew that it WASN'T her dad!
???:Hey kid, does this smell like chloroform to you?
They put a cloth to her face and she began to feel dizzy. Soon, she passed out. She began to feel someone tying her wrists together and picked her up. They then placed her in what felt like a car. She heard what sounded like four other people.
???:Nice going, man.
???:Remind me why we're doing this again.
???:Nothing wrong with mixing things up every now and then.
They then drove off. Julie had no clue what she was in for...
