James boarded the Hogwarts Express after saying goodbye to Effie and Fleamont, it's his 7th year of Hogwarts, his last. He presented last year as Alpha just like his dad did and most of the males in the Potter family, it was a little bit of a struggle getting used to it at first but James thinks he has it down now. James wants to be a good alpha. Sirius teases him about it sometimes, Sirius has been living with him since 5th year and him and Remus have been going out since last year, at least officially, Sirius is alpha and Remus is a beta but because Remus is actually werewolf werewolf his senses are a little better then ours.

James has never really, officially met Regulus Black. Sirius doesn't really like talking about it, so James didn't really push it.

James didn't know that Regulus Black is terrified of presenting, that if Regulus presents anything other then alpha that he would be a disgrace, Sirius was already the disgrace, regulus couldn't do any worse could he?

Neither of them knew what lies ahead.

Neither of them know what will happen when regulus presents on his 16th birthday.

Pov switch (1st)
"James are you even listening?" Sirius asked after explaining the meaning of his new set of rings.

"Yea sorry, just spaced out for a second," I smile at him and looked over at Remus whose staring at Sirius' hands like they are on fire. His pupils growing by the minute.

"Moony, you daydreaming over there? Your scent shifted" I tease while watching.

Remus shifts and send me a glare while Sirius smirks and winks at him. "Maybe moonbeam we should head to an empty compartment" Sirius suggests with a wink and a slip of a hand behind Remus' back. Remus only nods softly enough for Sirius to be getting up and pulling him along.

It's rather sweet if you think about it.

"Pete got any chocolate left? I'm craving something sweet." I say after a beat or silence and as the door slides shut.

"Moony stole the rest, sorry prongs" is his reply after a moment.

Damn have to wait for the trolly witch then.

"All right wormy no problem, I'll just wait for the trolly witch" I hum and send a soft smile to my beta friend.

"Hey James?" Peter asks after a moment.
"Yea Pete?" I reply with a soft smile.

"Are you looking for an omega or are you just gonna try with Lily even tho she's alpha too?" Peter boldly asks after a beat of silence.

"Oh" I pause. Do I still wanna chase after Lily Evans?  Do I want an omega? Do I even know the answer to his question?  "I don't know Pete." I finally get out. This is probably something I should know. Everyone seems to know what they want by now right? I'm almost 18.

I sigh and Peter just shrugs.
"Guess you'll just find someone you like, that seems to be your style" he says with a smile.

I smile back because he's right. I do most things with all of me, "if I find someone I fancy then we'll see."

I looked over and saw a switch of black and green robes and curls. And a few moments later the train came to a stop and they were getting off the train and heading to Hogwarts.

What James potter didn't know was that Regulus Black would be more to him then someone he fancy's.
