"What did you guys talk about the other day?" Ash asked.

"Huh?" Shan wasn't even paying attention to anything around her, she was more focused on the chipping painting on the wall. "yeah?"

"So, you and that friend you guys have, what's up with that?"

"Matsukawa?" Shan asked, and Ash raised a brow letting a smirk danced onto her lips. She was amused at Shan naming him of everyone.

"I don't even know who that is, but I was talking about that Kuroo person that Geni was texting about. I heard they used to be your neighbor??"

"Oh—" Shan stumbled on her words averting her eyes away, just stumbling for the next lump of words to leave her lips but her mind was moving so fast by the second. "I mean, oh um.. Kuroo is, well, was OUR neighbor. They had moved away due to some circumstances."

"Wait." Geni came from the kitchen holding a random straw from god knows where in her hand as she then pointed it at Shan. "Then what were y'all talking about because you looked upset when they came and approached you?"

Shan looked over at the straw being pointed at her. "Oh? They were apologizing to me for yelling at me."

"They what?"

"Huh?"

She sighed, rubbing a hand against her forearm. "It was the day when I could hear Kuroo fusing outside with someone. I looked and saw that they were fusing with the landlord and I was confused just to see Kuroo breaking down crying. So, I was worried and I came out to talk to them but they yelled at me or raised their voice at me and they wanted to be alone. I understood and left but I guess they felt immense guilt from that moment. Maybe I should've stayed and just sat beside them and stayed silent."

"Ah I see." Ash and Geni could both see the sadness that overflowed their friend now and it made her feel bad. "I think it was good that you left because maybe they would've reacted to you just being there. None of us knows what they could've been thinking at that moment. But, I am happy that they came to apologize to you."

"Yeah, so don't feel bad." Geni added.

Shan nodded. "I'm not sad, I'm not." She assured them.

"Now. Tell me more about this Matsukawa." Ash said.

"Don't forget, Hanamaki."

"Ah— you just had to add on.."

"It's my job," Geni said.

"So, there are two people??" Ash said. She whistled, even more amused at this whole conversation.

"I guess you can say that. Us three have been getting close these days, well more Matsukawa and I. Hanamaki he's there, but also he's been slightly weird."

"Maybe he's nervous?" Geni questioned.

"But, what would he be nervous about though? We don't do much and also I remember I asked them if they would like to you know Hang out tomorrow right, but.." Shan stared off into space seeming to be in deep thought. "Matsukawa was yeah for sure but after he finished a project to turn in, and Hanamaki was just like no, I have plans. Now, I wasn't mad that he said that but I just got a bad gut feeling..? Which made me worried, and I don't want to overreact because one was not dating, and two it's none of my business what he's doing."

"Mhm. Maybe it's nothing. He seriously might have plans and has things to do, but don't let go of that gut feeling though. Because, a gut feeling is always right so don't ignore it, BUT do observe because you also don't want to jump to conclusions, okay?" Ash recalled, which Shan nodded understanding.
