Klaue and his men were on an abandoned ship called Churchill. By the time we got there, Ultron and the Maximoff twins were already there. Steve, Thor, and Tony tried to reason with Ultron and the Maximoff twins, but it didn't go so well. Not only were we fighting with the robots, but also Ulysses Klaue's men. I avoided using my sword and just fought off Klaue's men while Thor and Steve took care of the robots. Tony was fighting with Ultron somewhere outside.
One of the men grabbed me from behind, but I used the railing to push my feet back so that the one holding me would slam against the wall. I elbowed him hard in the stomach and he slid down to the ground. I turned around and used the railing again to hold myself as I fan kicked another man that was coming towards me.
"Thor, status?" Steve said through comms.
I raised an eyebrow when Thor didn't respond. "Thor, you alright?" I asked in the comms. I frowned when I saw Thor stumble and fall to his knees on the upper level. He tried to get back up, only to fall again. "Steve, something happened to Thor. Everyone, stay alert."
"Copy that," Clint responded.
A loud thud made me turn around. Steve was knocked down by the stairwell. I jumped over the railing and ran over to Steve. I placed my hands on his face and made him look at me, but his eyes were completely dazed. "Steve, you alright? Steve?" Staring into his eyes, his blue eyes were gone glowed like rubies. I put my fingers against the comms. "Nat, Clint, something's going on. One of you, go check on Thor. We need to-" I felt a presence next to me. When I turned around, it was already too late. With a simple flick of Wanda's hand, a red luminescent smoke swept through me. I swatted my hand towards her, but Wanda was already gone. I started to feel dizzy as I tried to walk but stumbled down. I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to see if that would help me.
"Iliana, do you copy?" I heard Clint say. "Nat? Cap? Anyone copy-"
I looked around the familiar concrete walls and walked down the hall. With each room I passed, I saw bits of my past as the Luna. The first room I walked past was of me getting tortured by being dunked in a tank full of icy water at the hands of the Winter Soldier. Followed by another room where I was being hosed down with high-pressure water in the corner of the tile wall. The water they used to hose me down was always freezing. With how high the pressure was along with the water being so cold, it felt like I was being stabbed repeatedly. I was nothing but a trembling mess, completely stiff from it, but I wouldn't be cold for long. Their way of bathing me was being hosed down and then being chained up with arms above my head in a room that would shoot pressurized steam.
The next room showed the Winter Soldier and I were on a mission together. We had just finished an assassination of a powerful leader in Italy. The man who wanted the leader dead was interested in the Luna. Like a few of the men I dealt with, I was nothing but a piece of meat. They enjoyed the fact I was a deadly killer but forced to obey an order and never fight back. The man in charge grabbed Luna by the hair and brought her into a room while the Winter Soldier stayed put. He stepped forward, but guns were pointed at him. The followers made sick remarks in front of the Winter Soldier. His fists clenched as he was forced to wait until the leader was done.
I remembered every time something like that happened, the Winter Soldier would be gentle with me afterward. Sometimes, on our way back, he would grab a blanket and drape it over my shoulders. He wouldn't say anything to me, but in his eyes, there was a painful understanding.
I moved away from the room until I passed by the room I was kept in. I hesitantly walked inside and stared at my cryo-chamber. The Luna was in there. The screams of my mind being wiped or when I was being tortured rang in my ears. I turned away and decided to keep walking through the base.
