The little girl was quietly going over her routine for ballet when her teacher made an announcement. Mother's Day was coming up and all mothers were to come to practice so they may learn a dance routine with their daughters. The little girl smiled with joy, but it was soon replaced with a big frown. Class was already over and her dad was making his way to the girl when he noticed she was about to cry.
"Sweetheart what's wrong?" He questioned and the little girl sniffed.
"Daddy, where's mommy?"
Her dad froze in place, in fear that he would soon have to tell her the story.
"Mommy is traveling the world right now for her job."
He quickly replaced the real answer with a lie and it pained him to have to lie to his own daughter about her mother never coming back.
"When will she come back?" The little girl questioned with her big chocolate eyes. They were just like her moms.
"Sweetheart, I don't know."
And with that the two walked out of the ballet studio, leaving the little girl to wonder about her mom and Luke to wonder when to introduce Valerie to his little princess.
