Chapter 4: The Cardinal Virtue of Fortitude

"So if i get it right, you two are the children of a Lumen Sage and Umbra witch that apparently had run away when the clan wars were happening?" Elize said to the twins in utter shock. More people have broken the tenets of faith? More people have broken the rules and didn't get caught? And she never knew about this? It was so weird!

"Got that right. Was a big shocker when we found out to to be honest. We were only 4 years old when mom and dad died. We might have been very young, but we were old enough to understand when someone is dead." Harley said remembering that very day when angels had killed his parents. They were to young to lose their parents at such an age.

"After that we ran away cause the only thing in our mind was: what if the angels come back to kill us to? What if we are next? So we took our Umbran and Lumen Watch and the book about Lumen Sages and Umbra Witches, we didn't even know why we did though. We only started to use our powers recently. We spied on schools to learn how to read and do math and so on. Then we stole stuff from people to survive. Yes, we were caught by the police from time to time but we escaped them every time" Tammin said smiling remembering the chaos she and her brother caused. Those were the days.

 "Your parents would be so proud seeing that you two stayed together", Elize said patting their head. She always had a soft spot for children and teenagers. But that doesn't mean she ever wants a child herself. She couldn't be bothered by it really.

"Shut up everyone, we are here. Time to kick some angel butts" Bayonetta said walking into the old coliseum and throwing them all a lollipop. That should shut them up. 

"You are understood. Our fate is tied with the demon world, and we share your earnest interest in this matter. However, if she does not reach us alive, this conversation was all for naught." The angel from before said to someone.

Elize thought to herself: ' hmm, he certainly isn't talking to any other angel from what i am seeing. A human then? Could it be... No, impossible!' Little did she know, it wasn't to Jeanne he was talking too. But who could it be then?

Bayonetta then shot at the angel to get it's attention.

"You again? And here i thought i'd seen the last of you", Bayonetta said while the angel turned around.

"It is most kind of you to alleviate my search to seek you out. Bayonetta and her friends. Please forgive me my prior trespass and lack of hospitality."

'Fortitudo' 

"I'm sure you will be more than hospitable to us this time around", Bayonetta said while enjoying her lollipop and not all that much interested in what Fortitudo has to say. She has been hearing the same shit for the past 20 years, can you blame her?

"I've been informed that survivors of the Witch Hunts is resisting our dominion. However, their inevitable reunion with hell makes them such a sad soul. Also i have heard that a Lumen Sage has paired up with dark forces and uses our power to defeat our kind. If you are all that pitiful being, then shall i release you from your torment." Fortitudo said clearly not having it. If there is one thing that angels hate the most then that would be humans and... Nah, they just hate humans all together no matter what kind they are. They only care about themself.

Bayonetta then shot at him together with Elize who was getting tired of it while the twins just watch the shit happen.

"I'm sorry, i think I forgot to mention the reason i hunt your kind. You're much to ugly not to put out of your misery", Bayonetta said losing her patience with him. Fortitudo only laughed though.

"Challenging us with the Dark Arts!? No matter what age, Witches and Sages never learn..." He couldn't even finish his sentence before she shot him again. That's the thing with angels, they think they are superior then everyone else. Ha, what are they all wrong.
