Chapter 26: I care

you walk into the basement, it already smelled like dead people in here. you saw Morgan, Bucky and Steve were still peacefully asleep. you started cleaning, trying not to make too much noise. "do you need help with that?" you hear Steve whisper. "no" you said shortly. "why did you kill them?" he asked. "because i was angry at you" you said whispering back, not wanting to wake Morgan up. "then why didn't you just kill me" he says, almost too calm. "because at least they were criminals and murderers, so it's more justified than killing Captain America" you say mockingly. "i don't think that's true, i think you care to much" he says with a small smirk on his face. "ha" you said sarcastically "you wish". "i think i'm right" he say confidently. "you know i can still kill you if i feel like it right, your dead here anyways" you say while you put the last dead body in the elevator, to take them upstairs. 

"so what's your big master plan than?" he asked. "do you think i'm stupid" you said to him "you really thing i'm gonna tell you that". "well i'm dead here anyways right?" he says, a grin on his face, proud he used your own words against you. "you better shut your mouth right fucking now" you whisper yell to him. "or what" he says challenging you "gonna kill me like you did with them, yeah i don't believe you can". "watch out rogers, you're really starting to piss me off now" you say to him. 

"i just want to know why you're doing all of this, because to be honest. you seem like a nice person" he says calmly. "me a nice person, i've killed more people than i can count" you say coldly. "they were all bad people tho" he says. "why do you care so much?" you ask him surprised. he saw you kill probably about 12 people last night single handedly, and he still was convinced you were a good person? "i just want to understand you" he says calmly. "why?" you ask genuinely surprised. "Because your clearly broken, yet no one seems to notice". He says with pain in his eyes. you were at loss for words. what did he say? you would never admit it to him, or yourself for that matter. but somewhere he might be right. "i'm not" you say coldly. "yes you are, and i know you're too scared to admit it, even to yourself. but i seen that look in your eyes, Buck had it too" he says calmly, not in a judging tone. but in a tone that told you he really wanted to help.

"it's okay to ask for help" he says softly as it was silent for a few seconds. "i'm fine on my own" you say back, putting on your hard front again. "cut the bullshit!" he now says almost yelling. "just admit it for once, that it would be really nice to have someone beside you to help" he says. "i had someone beside me, and thanks to you she hates me!" you yell back angrily, waking up Bucky and Morgan. "what's going on?" Bucky asked confused. "nothing!" you yell back. "Kage! i mean Stephany! just listen to me for once. you can't do everything alone!" Steve yells behind you. "i can, i have to and i will!" you say back determent. "i did it all my life and i am surely not gonna take advise from the man that not only ruined my life ones, but twice" you say angry before you left the basement. 

*Steve's pov*

she left the basement. "what was that about?" Bucky asked you. "nothing, she's just too stubborn to listen" you say to him. you hated that no one saw what you saw. everyone saw an intimidating closed of woman, but you saw a lost and broken girl. why did no one notice that. a few hours later someone walked into the basement. you've expected it to be Stephany but it wasn't, it was a man. "i brought you guys food" he said, putting the plates in out cells. "can i ask you something?" you asked the man, he seemed nice. nothing like the hydra agents you've used to know. "depends on the question" the man said. "do you know, what did she call herself, madame hydra?" you asked him. "yes i do, what about her?" he says, sounding confused, like he didn't expect people to ask about her.
