PART TWO: CHAPTER TWELVE.
☆
Lexa, Erica and Dustin found and hid out in an area next to a fan. Lexa and Dustin explained to Erica what has been happening for the past year.
"So, when we set fire to the hub, we drew the Demodogs away so El could close the gate." Dustin recalled, "But now, for some insane reason, the Russians appear to be trying to reopen it, which just destroys everything we risked our lives for."
"By 'we', you're including Lucas?" Erica asked.
"Yes, of course." Dustin responded.
"So, all that shit you told me, Lucas was there?" Erica repeated.
"Yeah." Dustin confirmed.
"My brother, Lucas Charles Sinclair?" Erica asked again.
"Yes!" Dustin shouted.
"I don't believe you." Erica shook her head.
"Wait, so you believe everything about El and the gate and the Demodogs and the Mind Flayer, but you question your brother's involvement?" Lexa raised her eyebrows.
"That's correct." Erica answered.
"Makes total sense." Dustin sighed.
"Um, you need help with that?" Erica questioned, Dustin was trying to stop the fan.
"No." Dustin responded.
"Well, I mean, it's taking a while, so-" Erica started.
"Yeah, no shit, Sherlock." Dustin cut her off.
"Okay, okay, stop. Arguing isn't gonna get us anywhere." Lexa rubbed her forehead.
"All right, so if we don't find a more efficient method to stop these fans, we're never gonna find help, and your ice cream buddies are screwed." Erica taunted.
"Yeah, with that attitude they are." Dustin rolled his eyes.
"I'm just being realistic. I mean, we've made it about .03 miles in 9 hours." Erica checked her watch, "Then we had to walk 3 hours down that tunnel, so I'd estimate 10 miles back to the elevator, which should take us approximately 12.5 days."
"Holy shit. You're so smart." Lexa's eyes widened slightly.
"Did you just do all of that in your head?" Dustin agreed.
"I'm good with numbers." Erica shrugged.
"Not just good. Genius." Lexa complimented, "But I really hope we can get there faster than 12.5 days."
"Holy shit. You're a nerd." Dustin looked at Erica.
"Come again?" Erica leaned closer.
"You....are....a...nerd." Dustin repeated.
"Okay, you better take that back, nerd." Erica crossed her arms.
"Guys, stop. No more arguing." Lexa looked at the fan to see if somehow she could think of a way or plan to stop it. Lexa's eyes lit up and she yanked on a wire, causing some electricity to crackle. Her plan worked, seeing as the fan powered down.
"Wow. Maybe you're a nerd too, Lexa." Dustin grinned.
"Shut up." Lexa rolled her eyes playfully, "Let's go."
The three then crawled their way towards the fan.
