I handed dad his neck pillow that he always carries as he is always traveling, he loves exploring places, he never liked to be tied down, he always liked to be free in a literal sense he said. But I feel it was his way of coping with being away from the people he loved.

" thank you, honey," he said smiling.

Zipping up his bags.

We headed toward the table, I sat in my chair my dad sitting next to me serving me heaps of breakfast that he made.

" dad that is too much food " I protested trying to stop him from serving me anymore.

" no, you eat too little," he said signaling for me to finish it with a stern look.

I agreed, nodding my head and digging in enjoying the crispy bacon.

I looked towards dad who watched me intently " I am going to miss making food for you " he said, his eyes filled with sadness.

" dad don't...I am going to miss you " I said side hugging him." stay for a few more days, please " I begged. It was always like once I get comfortable and happy everyone left, leaving me all alone.

" you know I cannot do that.....coming to see you here wasn't in the plan honey I am already a couple of days off schedule," he said I nodded my head, moving away from him being mature and understanding just like how I was for the past ten years mature and alone.

" so how is your cafe running?" dad asked chewing his pancake.

"it's good, " I replied. " it's running smoothly ".

" so...are you hiding something from me " dad questioned.

My eyes immediately widened in surprise, I held the edge of the spoon really hard, so my attention would be on the pain.

" about what? " I asked trying to play it casually.

" the guy you like or the one who likes you " dad replied with a smile on his face.

I sighed loud, calming myself " no I don't like Austin, and neither does he like me " I said sipping my apple juice.

" you know something is going on when you don't give a name but they give you a name instead, " dad said coolly.

I bit my lip knowing it was my fault.

" But seriously dad, we are really good friends nothing more than that," I said trying to convince him.

" Okay," he replied sarcastically.

" Stop don't " I protested.

" what I did not say anything," he said chuckling.

I just stared at him " fine listen to me, I know how this works honey, " he said holding my hand.

I sighed signaling for him to go on " when a father watches , especially his daughter, first of all, they would never want any guy coming anywhere close to her "

I looked at him with a meh expression " I am not finished yet " he said continuing " and when he does allow a guy to get closer to her, it means and only means he sees a future for the both of you " he said, slowly and patiently.

" dad no you got it all wrong....gosh this is really stupid," I said standing up and walking back and forth " what future dad, I have just known him for a couple of months...yes he's good looking and all but nothing more than that," I said almost yelling getting really annoyed with this.

" fine, fine relax " he instructed I puffed in annoyance sitting on the couch.

" But you know the way he looks at you, cares for you...I have never seen any of your other friends do that not every man cares for every woman it's just the special ones" dad said a smile playing on his lips thinking about something.
