I got down the car in my knee-length black and white stripes dress after the hot sweaty afternoon I couldn't wear a hoodie, I wore my black sneakers as I was going to do a lot of running today and couldn't risk it with heels, my hair was put in a half up pony.
" come on get the fuck out now !" I yelled losing the last straw of my patience, as I watched Eddie whine for the hundredth time.
" but I told you it's Friday, I have prior commitments," he said gnawing at his tie irritatedly.
" And I told you going to a club and picking up your new girlfriend for the week doesn't come under fucking prior commitment when you are hosting a charity event and everyone is expecting you!" I yelled my chest heaving in anger. I blew in and out a couple of times trying to calm myself down, as I was so done with his tantrums.
He placed his head on the steering wheel, causing a loud noise due to the blaring of the horn.
" fine let's go to this meeting," he said closing the door of the car and walking ahead of me.
" It's a charity event " I yelled running behind him, and what I meant about running this evening, it had already begun.
We walked backstage, everyone looked relieved watching us.
" what the hell is it now? " Eddie grumbled annoyed. His blue suit jacket fitting on his tall lean frame perfectly, his hair neatly gelled back.
I glared at him shutting him up " what's wrong?" I questioned being a little more patient compared to Eddie.
Caleb along with other students wearing white t-shirts with the name Edinburgh University printed on them in bold letters in calligraphy style.
" popsicle lover canceled " one of the students replied.
" Good for him, he must get some rest all of you ll should also rest at home " Eddie butted in.
" he's not a student, he's the one who was going to sing today " I explained to Eddie who still didn't give a shit.
" but why?" I asked trying to be calm.
" he's got a gig in Australia later today and he said they are paying him" Caleb explained.
" but this is a charity event we are not supposed to pay" I yelled annoyed.
" what do we do now? if he doesn't come today, they will sue us! " one of the sorority girls voiced out causing panic to rise among everyone.
" why? What? They can't sue us, can't we give back the money we got?" Eddie questioned standing opposite me with the students.
" no we can't, that's charity money that will be worst than getting sued " I explained. I could feel the panic rising in me, but I had to be strong every one had put their hope in me, I couldn't be vulnerable not in front of them.
" if I quit right this minute will I still be associated, with this university, when it's getting sued ?" Eddie questioned panicked.
" all of us are going to go to prison...I am too young to go to prison" one of the sorority girls yelled.
" Prison" Eddie yelled placing his hands over his head, everyone around expressing the same feeling as Eddie.
I walked up to Eddie " nothing of that sort is going to happen, relax now I'll take care of it " I said assuring them, he still did not reply as he was in a daze.
Caleb walked up to me " hazel let me come with you " he said.
" no ill handle that, you take care of everything here, keep the sorority girls away from the rest of the students, and please take care of Eddie for me" I replied walking to the front stage where all the chairs were arranged.
