Year xxx

Elfini Kingdom, Gillinoa Forest

Yarran felt a severe pain on both his head and chest. He can feel that he's losing too much blood from the open wounds and it's making him dizzy, rendering him unable to continue his search for help.

He's deep in the forest, not a usual route used by travelling merchants.

No one's gonna be able to find and save him. This forest, lush and full of tall old trees and wild grass is more of a hunting ground for nobles. He had spotted yellow ribbons tied on the branches indicating that there is an ongoing hunt but never had he encountered anyone in his hour long search for help.

He keeps pushing it out of his mind but it has already plague his thoughts, the possibility of no one ever finding him in the middle of this large forest, or if someone did, a noble who is participating in the hunting competition most probably, the chances of them helping him, a person they didn't even considered a human being is as slim as to none. Nobles don't like commoners and he's not even one. He's a peasant. The nobles hate them with such rage they want to purge them.

Small, thin and filthy.

The poor are destined to die early,

But the peasants shouldn't even breathe the same air and just die before they're even been born.

Those were the common phrase he hears from the aristocrats whenever they see a beggar on the streets.

At some point of his miserable life, he began to think that maybe they are right. Can he even make a good life for himself? No one trusted a beggar enough to give them proper jobs. They are always viewed as a thief and if not, a tarnish to one's reputation.

Yarran's light purple eyes are turning dull. It's all his fault he's in this predicament. He became greedy.

It's been days since he had last eaten, spotting a lone baby boar made his stomach growl and his mouth salivate at the thought of finally having a proper meal. Maybe even earning some coins for selling some of the meat.

There is a famous store at the capitals market that is best known for their grilled meat and he can only imagine what it taste like everytime he pass by. The smell is mouth watering and it became his dream to one day have a taste of it. Seeing the lone boar despite not having any knowledge and skills to hunt, he thought he may be able to catch it despite his frail body that clearly lacks nutrients he should have as a growing boy.

He already harvested enough mushrooms and berries but his stomach is already having a withdrawal from eating those all the time. There might even be a poisonous mushroom mixed due to his limited knowledge as he starts having stomach aches after his last meal different from the usual pain in his belly when he's hungry.

As he's focused on the chasing instead of the surroundings, the startled creature run back to where it came from and it's too late to realize that it came running for it's parent. A big wild boar with large tusk came to view and the creature upon seeing him charge straight to his direction, it's instinct to protect, mauling his little body.

The useless attempts to fight only anger the boar it's even a miracle he was able to flee. When the animal was sure that he's no longer a threat, it luckily didn't follow him anymore.

But he was already beaten up.

Just for wanting to taste meat.. Is he going to die?

His eyes burns and weak tears started to flow.

He don't want to die.

Despite having nothing and struggling to survive one after each day, still, he wants to live.
