CHAPTER 5

Honestly, he don't know what to do with the said consort to be. Their citizens discovered a mine between the borders of their kingdom and the Elfini although a large portion of it was part of the West. Someone definitely needs to step up and rule as to how the minerals should be mine.

Not many mines were found on their lands and it's no simple one as it is reported to have high value minerals and crystals that's why he will no way  going to give it up to them.

As his father is sick and his health declining, most of the affairs of the kingdom already goes straight to him. He was already set for war knowing that the Elfini Kingdom would not let this mine go as well even if it leads to another territorial disputes for them when their new King send a letter to him, offering the only princess of the kingdom as a sign of 'friendship' to be his woman.

He take note of the term used. Woman. Meaning a mistress.

She's not someone to be his wife and hold power and authority within the royal family. He got curious and investigate why such kingdom will offer their only princess and settle for her to only become a mistress. That's when he learned that the princess is sickly. Most likely unable to bear an heir. Cunning king. Giving him a princess who can't bear children in return of taking the rights to do the mining and just send them half of whatever they get base on the letter.

He plans to decline the offer as he don't have time to babysit some sickly princess when news of Dasha and her mother plotting something comes to him.

It seems that Dasha and her mother is terrorizing everyone that he sleeps with and allegedly have a contact with the black market requesting to make a tonic that would make someone knocked out for hours. He don't need to be a genius to know who's they're planning to use it to.

 They are also quietly having meetings with the inner court pushing for his marriage as the king is ill for a long time and it might be sooner rather than later for him to finally inherit the throne. A wife would make him look like a stable ruler. Although he believe he's stable and capable enough to rule on his own, it is the tradition within the royal family for the upcoming king to have a wife and an immediate heir the moment he was given the throne or prior to it.

The royal family were forseen as strong if the King had an immediate heir to passed the throne to in case something happens to him.

Giving where everything seems to go, it looks like Dasha is planning to make herself his consort with the backing from the inner court. She and her mother being social climbers had planned it some time now and it seems that their efforts are consistently making it's small steps towards their goal without him actually noticing.

He underestimate her. He thought that all she's good for is get down on his pants.

She even made sure to look like they are having an unofficial relationship by her being his constant companion among many others on formal and casual gatherings. That's why when reports of her boasting about them being together came, not a lot of people seems to question the authenticity of the news anymore. It also made her repel those who seems to have interest with him to make a move, limiting his options to her.

In short, he needs someone to fend her off that's why he plans to make the princess a wife for show.

Too bad for Dasha. They have not forsee this turn of events.

A princess will be more suited for him rather than a woman with bought nobility. Not that he cares about titles and such. He just hate how she manipulated everything to be part of the royal family. This woman will never be of any royal. She can try all she want but he knew better.
