OMNISCIENT POV
WEDNESDAY. JANUARY 30, 2019.
——————————

Walking into the restaurant, Janet removed her shades and placed them at the top of her head as she walked to the receptionist desk. This shift's receptionist happened to be one of the youth from the church. Janet smiled when she saw the young lady working hard, placing her purse onto the desk to catch her attention.

"Good Afternoon. If you would give me one second, I will assist—" The child looked up from the computer and gasped when she saw the woman. "First Lady!" She came from around the desk and brought Janet into a big, tight hug.

Laughing, Janet hugged the tall frame back. "Hey, baby. How are you doing? I see they got you working hard,"

"They do. I've been here since ten-thirty and I don't get off until eleven, tonight," She said, walking back behind the desk to grab a menu and a silverware wrap. Janet sent her a sympathetic expression. Waving it off, the girl smiled. "I take it as you're dining with Mrs. Erica, today,"

"Yup, but I'm stuck on them letting you work these ridiculous hours. Are they paying you any good?" She asked.

The girl nodded as she led the way to where Erica was dated. "The pay is actually pretty good. Twenty-five a hour just to sit here and do nothing, but walk people to tables. It's alright with me," She said and Janet shook her head and followed behind her.

Approaching the table, the girl stood next to it and motioned towards a free seat for Janet to sit. The waiting woman looked up from her phone and at the girl before looking over her shoulder. Seeing Janet walking up to her she smiled big, getting up from her seat.

"Thank you, Serenity. Don't let me leave without talking to you," Janet says.

"Yes ma'am," She said before turning on her heels to return back to her station.

Walking up to Erica, Janet gave her a hug before going over to her seat, sitting down, placing her purse at the end of the table. She picked up her menu and began to look through it while Erica looked over with her eyebrow arched up.

"First Lady wearing jeans? On a Wednesday? What's the special occasion?"

Janet looked ip from her menu, giving her friend a bored look. "Really?"

"Yes, really. What made you want to change up the wardrobe?"

The woman did a light shrug. "I don't know, I just saw them and put them on. I've worn jeans before, just didn't make it out of the door," She said with a small chuckle, looking back at the booklet.

While she did that, Erica hummed and tapped her fingertips against the table. "It had something to do with your controlling husband, huh?"

"Erica, don't start.." She said, flipping through the laminated pages.

"I'll leave it alone, for now. How did the meeting go? I would've came, but Kierra and I had to take Zaya to her doctors appointment,"

"It went smooth up until Dwayne stepped in with his chaotic ideas," She said, shaking her head, exhaling through her nose. "Speaking of Ki, where is she?"

"She'll be here a little later on, but what do you mean by 'chaotic ideas'? You have to be more specific than that. Everything about that nigga is chaotic,"

Placing her hands on the back of her neck, she rubbed it, uncomfortably. "Well, he wants to tear down the entire sanctuary—

"He wants to what?!" Erica accidentally shouted, causing all eyes to shift to their table. Slouching down into her seat, Janet hid her face behind the large menu. Looking around, Erica covered her mouth. "Sorry.." She said and everyone went back to what they were doing. Looking back at Janet, she leaned towards the table.
