JANET'S POV
SAME NIGHT.
——————————

"Will that be all for you, ladies?"

I turned to the girls. "Are y'all sure this is all you wanted? Like, seriously?" I asked them, and they both nodded. Erica smiled and slipped behind me, resting her chin on my shoulder.

I nodded at the cashier, and she began ringing up our things. "Your total is fourteen even."

I swiped the card, slipping it back inside of my wallet. That approved message will do it for me, every-time. I stood there and waited for the woman to finish bagging up my many items, looking around the store.

All night, the three of us have been getting quite a few from the palm-colored people. It didn't matter where we went. It must have been a shocker to find out that black people can afford this type of luxury, too. I love proving individuals wrong.

When the woman finally had all of our things inside of the bags, she handed them off to us and wished us a good night. So far, we've been in Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Yves Saint Laurent, Tiffany &' Co and the next stop was Ralph Lauren, then Alexander McQueen. I'm spending my baby's money, the least I could do was get him a few things too. I know he'd look sexy in just about anything.

As we walked and laughed through the mall, this sudden feeling of being watched came over me. While the girls talked and pointed at some of the window displays, I looked over my shoulder. Two young men trailed behind us, slowly, not even twenty feet away. I couldn't make out their faces that well, but they were dressed in all black and timberlands, with blue bandannas wrapped around their heads. That read bad news.

When they raised their heads, I turned back around and dropped my eyes to the floor, feeling my heart drop. I've seen them before. They walked into the Tiffany &' Co store a little after we did, and I made eye contact with the both of them. They did nothing but smirk at me. On the inside, I was a little confused with their reason for coming into the store, being that it is mainly for women. I didn't think to question it, but now I was full of them. Are they following us?

I looked back one more time and they were a bit closer, speed walking towards us. I could now see their faces and they both held a mischievous expression. They were coming with full force, and all of a sudden, that wave of utter fear had left me and was replaced with pure annoyance.

I swiftly stopped in my tracks and watched the girls walk ahead of me, having no clue as they looked around the mall. From behind me, I could feel the two males' eyeballs crawling all over me and it made me turn on my heels. I charged at them with the same amount of force they were charging with, making them pause abruptly.

"Do we have a problem? Do y'all not have anything better to do?" I asked as I approached them. I stood inches away from the tall figures. They looked at one another and I could tell they were communicating with their eyes. That only made me even more mad. "Hello? Let's not all speak at fucking once!"

I was close enough to finally look these weirdos over. One of them—light skinned with braids and a full goatee while the other one was a shade of two darker, and had his curly hair stuffed into a man bun. A slash scar underneath his right eye, standing a few inches taller. I've never seen them before today.

Then, all of a sudden, they bursted out into laughter. My eyebrows scrunched in confusion. "What the hell is so funny? Are y'all going to stand there, looking like two goofy blue birds or are y'all going to speak up?"

"Goofy blue birds? Ho, you better watch yourself." The one with braids said.

"Ho?!" I stepped up closer to him and dropped my bags at my feet. "Who the fuck are you calling a ho?"
