We spent the rest of the day practicing magic. Spell after spell until my body felt to weak to stand. All the practice had drained me like an old battery, so much so that I was to weak to walk myself back to the car. Agatha guided me almost kindly, though even her kindest gestures were unnerving at this point.
When we began driving again I slept, I don't know for how long but it must have been a while because by the time I woke up it had been already two days.
"Morning sunshine, sleep well?"
"How long was it out?" I asked while stretching my arms and legs.
"Two days give to take." Agatha said with a shrug.
"Two days?!" I shouted, "how was I sleeping for two days?"
"Your exerted yourself dear, it used to happen to me when I was a young witch."
"Well are we at least close?" I asked.
"Well be by nightfall tomorrow."
"And then what, you kill my mom?"
The witch simply smirked, "well I'll ensure she suffers first, but yes."
"I will stop you." I said blatantly.
"Good luck dear, just make sure you know what your doing."
I sighed in trepidation, "you don't have to do this you know?"
"So you've said," Agatha doesn't tear her eyes from the road.
"I can help you, maybe power isn't what you need. Maybe you could sue a new hobby, or some friends."
"Ha!" Agatha cackled out loud, "Friends, seriously, that's your suggestion?"
"Your right," I said mockingly, "after all who'd wanna be friends with you?"
Agatha side eyed me with a hint of a smile, like she was proud I had the nerve to insult her.
"I don't have time for hobbies," she continued, "believe it or not securing power and hunting down the scarlet witch takes up the majority of my time."
"You don't say, why not pick up a good book then. Forget your plans of world domination for a day."
"Oh you'd just love that wouldn't you?" Said Agatha, "maybe I'll start collecting stamps while I'm at it."
Even though I knew she was joking I couldn't help but smile. Seeing humanity from someone so soulless gave me hope. Maybe I could stop Agatha after all."Do you even have any friends?" I asked.
"Do you?" She retorted.
"I-well no but, I'm sure I would. You know if i'd been out of Westview before now."
"Ya well I've been alive for a lot longer than you and let me feel you, friends aren't necessary for fun."
I gave her a strange look, "that just seems like something a person with no friends would say."
"Maybe, but I've had some good times over the years, and the best ones have been behind the scenes. Like in Westview when no one even knew I was there."
"We knew you were there," I retorted, "just not that you were a witch."
"Hmm, but you figured it out," she laughed, "I must admit I never anticipated that."
I stayed silent and she continued.
"Of course I whipped your mind but still, I couldn't quiet get rid of that suspicion you had."
"I wanted to believe you," I said, "I wanted to trust in you and believe that there was someone who had my back. You made us trust you, made my mom become your friend. You were are supposed "aunt", and then you just went and stabbed everyone in the back."
"It wasn't personal." Agatha sighed, "In face I would've been quiet content leaving you and your brothers alone had you not gotten all up in my business. So it's your own fault really."
"I don't believe you, say I hadn't found out who you were, say my brothers and I didn't ever try and help our mom, why am I supposed to believe you'd have just left us alone. As soon as you'd gotten your hands on the scarlet witch magic we'd be killed anyways."
Agatha halted at me, "Not necessarily, I gave Wanda a chance you know. And option to forfeit her magic to me and settle for your family and the town. I would've left, but no, she just had to have her powers."My throat tightened, every memory of Westview brought me closer to the edge, but what would happen if I fell of it, I didn't know.
"Agatha...please don't kill her. I- I won't stop you from taking her powers but just, just don't kill her okay. Is that possible?"
Blue eyes pierce me. "She imprisoned me inside my own mind. Left me in that shit hole, and you really think I'm just gonna forgive and forget?"
"Revenge is a choice! You don't need to kill her to get what you want."
Another sighs: "Look if I'm being honest it doesn't matter much anyways, we're all as good as dead soon anyways."
"What's that supposed to mean!?"
"It means that fool of a sorcerer strange botch a spell and disrupted the balance of the multiverse verse. I can protect myself of course but your dear mother and the other will bend over backwards to fix their mistakes. They'll kill themselves trying Lorna, that's what the Avengers do."
"No!" I shook my head I denial, "I'll help her, you, YOU CAN HELP HER."
"I only help myself!" Agatha spat back, "but if you stay out of my way maybe I'll be inclined to extend that help to you."
"So you'd help me but not the rest of the world?"
"Like I said, I'm no Avenger. And I wouldn't want to be either. Here:" she tossed me a phone, "search up Natasha Romanoff, or better yet Iron Man, see what there fates were. I can guarantee you your Mothers will be far worse. I'd be doing her and the world a favour by putting her out to her misery. Surely your not so stupid that you can't see that."
"Pull over!" I shouted.
"What?!"
"Pull over I'm getting out."
Agatha scoffed, "No, your not!"
"Yes I am, let me go Agatha!"
I tried to reach for the car door but Agatha locked it with magic, purple tendrils them spiralled around me and secured me in the seat like ropes.
"Let me out, I'll walk if I have to!"
"No. You. Won't." Agatha hissed threw clenched teeth.
"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?!" I screamed, "WHY ARE YOU MAKING MY LIFE MISERABLE ONE MOMENT AND THEN TRYING TO PROTECT ME THE NEXT, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!"
