"Don't hurt those kids." That was the last thing Stephen said to Christine as he was taken to god knows where.
"Where are they taking him," I'd demanded to know, "what's the Illuminati?"
"All you need to know is that their a an illite group of people," Christine said, "And that they will determine whether Stephen is a threat to us or not."
"And if they fevidence he's a threat?" I asked, "then what?!"
Christine went silent. I'd heard all I'd needed too.
"You have to let us out." America protested, "Please someone dangerous is coming and she won't stop until she gets me."
"The Illuminati can handle them." Christine assured her.
I shook my head, she didn't understand the sheer desperation of the situation.
"No they can't, Christine please believe me because I know better than anyone. This dangerous person is my mother, the Scarlet Witch."
Christine momentarily looked like she was rethinking her safety.
"I'm done debating with you." She said finally, "I have work to do."
I stomped my foot as she turned and went back to her work. Everyone here was dead if we didn't get out soon.
"This is stupid." America said, "Stephen isn't a threat and neither are we."
"If only someone would believe us." I said, *cough, cough Christine.
These people had no idea what kind of danger they were in.
Then a blaring alarm sounded.
"Told you so." I murmured glaring at a frightened Christine.
"Everybody out!" She called, "Now!"
"It's Wanda." America said. "You have to let us out now."
Christine tried to open our cells but nothing worked, Wanda appeared blood stained and ready to kill,
"Hurry she's coming!" I screamed.
"Oh no." Christine whispered as Wanda made her tech malfunction, moments before she would've reached us a team of hero's stopped her. I knew however they wouldn't be any match for her. So I tried to ignore their screams as we worked on a way out.
"Christine take of my cuffs," I said, "I can get us out of here."
"Please Christine!" America begged.
"I can't! Wanda's scrambled my signals."
"Lorna," America said, "your going to have to overpower the cuffs yourself."
"I can't!" I exclaimed, "that's not possible."
"It is..." she told me, "I believe in you."
I looked back, my mother had already slaughtered three of the four hero's, if there was a time to embrace my power it was now.
"Aghhhhhhhhhh." I screamed as I tried to overpower the cuffs. Every muscle and vein in my body ached for me to stop, but I kept pushing.
"Lorna hurry!"
"AHHHHH." Light burst from deep inside me and I thrust my hands out. The glass shattered and disintegrated and the cuffs broke and fell off.
"You did it!" America exclaimed, but her excitement quickly turned to horror as Wanda approached. She'd breached all the Illuminati's defences in a matter of minutes.
Seeing Wanda so close America punched the glass. Blue light shot from her first and created a star shaped crack in the glass. It cascaded outwards but didn't fully break it.
"Whoa." She said.
"Whoa." Me and Christine repeated.
"America punch it again." I said but she was distracted by Wanda's limping figure drawing nearer.
"Enough." A man in some sort of high tech wheelchair floated in and called to her.
They had some kind of epic mind battle before his neck was snapped.
"America again."
She punched the glass and broke it that time so we took of running. We got half way down the hallway when screeches echoed in the distance. A figure running came towards us and I sighed in relief upon realizing it was Strange. America and I ran forward and embraced him.
"Hey. You alright." He seemed shocked by our affection but hugged back.
I nodded, "We're good. You should've seen America."
"Me," she laughed breathlessly, "what about you."
Stephens cape flew between us and hitched itself on his back.
"She fixed him." America said gesturing to Christine.
"Thank you." Strange hastily replied. "Xavier said I built a waypoint to the book of Vishanti. Can you take us there?" He asked her.
"How am I supposed to trust you?" She asked.
"Because he's different here." America told her, "I didn't trust him either but he proved me wrong."
I nodded, "it's true, and it doesn't matter about all the other Stephens. He's not like them."
Strange smiled at us. "Smart kids."
Christine relented as the lights buzzed. She took of his cuff and proceeded to guide us to the book.
"Do not make me regret this." She told him as we took of through the halls.
It wasn't long before Wanda was behind us though, looking quite terrifying as stumbled barefoot on broken glass, eyes red and covered in blood.
"Go, go, go!" Strange yelled to us.
We started sprinting as Wanda blasted everything within our vacuity . She looked almost demonic as she chased after us, like a zombie or some undead creature. Christine slammed her hand on a button and shut one of the doors to the tunnel we were in. My mom was trapped on the other side but it didn't put my mind at ease.
The dripping water in the tunnel began to slow and we all knew what was coming.
"Where did she go?" America whispered.
Then Wanda popped out in front of us and we screamed. I held onto America, Stephen and Christine crossed there arms over us in a vain attempt of protection.
"I warned you." Wanda rasped.
"Other Wanda if your in there, hold your breath." Stephen said. He slammed his fist down on the ground and water shot from the bricked celling. The tunnel was clearly under water, so the pressure made the leak hard enough to cut glass. Then we ran and the water crashed in on her.
"Did it kill here?" America asked him.
"No, just bought us time."
We ran to the entrance where there was a locked door. Only Stephen knew how to get it, placing the watch Christine gave him in the grove where a key might fit.
The door opened and we gazed upon the book of Vishanti. It was a marvellous sight, twisted within the depths of the Multieverse. I hardly knew what I was looking at as we floated in between space and time.
Stephen stepped out of the door and floated onto the platform below.
"Common kid, you got this." He told America. I used my powers to glide down beside her and we safely landed on our feet. Christine followed behind us.
"Everyone alright." Stephen asked.
"Yeah." I nodded as we regained our sense of stability.
"This is the gap junction," Christine told us, "the space between universes."
"And there's the book." I said, pointing to the glowing object in the centre of everything.
Stephen reached for it but not before I felt a tugging tugging sensation at the back of my neck. It grew stronger before both America and I were pulled back by red magic. We screamed, it felt like Wanda was pulling us straight by our scalps.
"Let go!" I writhed, kicking and desperately trying to escape.
"No!" Christine yelled.
"No!" Stephen caught Christine as she jumped forward to help us. Wanda would kill her if she got any closer. He shot magic towards her but she seemed to catch it and shoot it straight back at them. The book of Vishanti was burned by scarlet flames and all we could do was watch.
Wanda lifted them up with magic and forced America to create another portal before throwing them straight into it.
"NOOOOO!" I screamed and begged for her to stop but she contorted Americas power once again. The portal opened before us and I saw my real mothers figure, floating above a tomb like thrown room.
I yelped as both me and America were tossed through, landing hard on the ground. I looked up to find us at my mothers feet. She opened her eyes and stared at us before flinging America onto the platform before her. She screeched as she was restrained. I tried to use my own magic to stop her but she slammed me against the closet pillar, pinning my arms and legs to the side. I was completely vulnerable, and worse I would have to watch as she killed America.
"No!" I screamed, "Mom please, this isn't what Billy and Tommy would want!"
America groaned in agony as her restraints pulled her tighter.
"They'll never know." She hissed with a deadly glint in her eye.
"Maybe not." America said, "But you will."
My mother raised her hands and blue light escaped Americas breath. Then she began pulling and America let out a blood curtailing screech.
If I didn't do something soon, I would watch America die.
