I visited hospital and got myself some regular check up reports and few scar creams for the bruises over my waist. An acting career would always be based on how good your body looks and no one wants ugly actresses, no matter how bad looking an actor would be.
Then I went to inaugurate an arcade in a shopping mall because I was paid well. Who cares if I live arcade or not? As long as my popularity could fetch customers the owner would ask me to be their chief guest.
It was an exhausting day and all I wanted was a good sleep. When he pulled over in the garage I got out first, straddling towards the door but it was already unlocked.
I swung it open, stepping inside the lit up living hall. I saw the back of a woman. A woman I knew too well to even ditch the introductory part.
"What are you doing here?" I scoffed.
She stood up with that mini white purse and a jacket hanging over her shoulders. Her black hair pulled up in a ponytail and her curves caged into a white blouse and skirt, tight below her pelvic region, giving that woman in her 40s, a 30s look.
"I'm your mom. I have every single right in this world to check on you."
I laughed, marching closer then crossed my arms. "Like you care." We shared that typical hatred stare. I might have came out like a kid with tantrum and she, as a woman with arrogance but like mother, like daughter, we had the same level of pissed off mood.
Jungkook walked in, catching my mother's gaze who checked him head to toe then looked at me. "Is this the toy that girl gave you? No wonder she has low taste, that's the reason I don't keep close people like her. Pretty low pathetic gold diggers."
"Mom, please!" I stomped on floor, taking two steps of courage towards her," What you give me is robot, who don't talk, who don't behave like a human at all. What's the deal with you? It's my life and I decide what I wanna do."
"Mind your language." She pointed a finger at me then turned to my secretary. "Leave! I wanna talk to her, alone." He bowed and went out, leaving us in an heated argument.
An argument I always face and could predict because that's what I always had with her.
"Where's your manners, Kim Y/N? I thought you were civilized enough, not like the animalistic characters you are presenting. I never taught you this."
I clasped my hand in amusement, sarcastically. "Were you there when I was growing? Let me remind you, it was your father who treated me like a grandchild. After giving birth to me, you took over the company while grandpa raised me. He taught me love. It was his teaching that I am still tolerating you both otherwise I feel suffocation."
She clenched her fists, eyebrows furrowed with deadly glares thrown on me. She gritted her teeth and continued to speak.
"We were also there for you. You never lacked any comfort. You had brands no one could afford. After dad's death, we gave you enough assets to live a life rather than working in a pitiful industry."
A thick tear rolled down my eyes as I clutched the backrest of couch.
"I was 10 years old, sent to live to a penthouse. Those brands, objects, machines and workers were nothing compared to what I wanted. You and dad were so invested in your individuality that my dream of belongingness faded."
"Dreams are meant to be forgotten before the dawn." Her voice came out calm, like the phase before a cyclone develops. "I tried my best, I am doing my best and I will do better. All I want is to provide you the things you deserve. You are my daughter, the only baby I ever perceived and gave birth."
