-Joe POV-

I hear Caspar stir next to me, and subsequently feel a weight lifted off the bed. I moan at the loss.

"Do you have to go?" I whine. Caspar leans over to kiss me.

"I'm afraid so. Got meetings all day." I groan, though I'm just putting on an act. He'll be home before noon.

"But it's your birthday!" I complain. He just sighs.

"I know."

"Well... happy birthday." I give him a weak smile, my eyes still half closed. He smiles back.

As he gets ready, I secretly text Zoë.

Hey, is everything ready?

Zoella :P:
Yep. Just tell me when he's left.

"Bye babe. Have a great day! I love you."

"Love you too, Joe." He says distractedly. I frown a bit as he leaves.

I wait until I hear the door slam shut. Great, he's in a bad mood. Weather it be the "meetings" on his birthday, or me acting like I don't care, it'll all disappear soon.

I quickly text Zoë as I jump out of bed.

He's gone! No time to lose.

I pull on my suit and brush my teeth, fix my hair.

The doorbell buzzes and I rush upstairs to let Zoë, Alfie, Jim, Tanya, Marcus, Niomi, and even his friend Joshua from South Africa in.

They carry balloons, gifts, snacks, Jim even brought a cake.

I keep my eye on the clock as we set up. Caspar should be at his final destination now.

-Caspar POV-

I arrive at my first meeting. The first of four. Seriously, four meetings! On my birthday!

I walk through the doors hastily, just wanting to get this over with. I stop dead in my tracks when I find no one there.

Immediately, questions start forming in my mind.

Did I go to the right place?

Is this the right meeting?

Am I on time?

What's that box on the table?

I swiftly walk over to investigate. It has my name on it. In Joe's handwriting.

I smile inwardly as I open it up. It only contains a letter.

Dear Caspar,

Happy birthday, love! I love you so much, did you really think I'd disregard your birthday? Of course not! But I have to tell you something. There's a surprise waiting for you. But you have to follow these clues to get to it. Each clue will lead you to the next, there are 10 in total. 10 will be at the final destination. You'll meet some friends along the way.
