"Ah, sorry," Noriaki Kakyoin muttered in Japanese, without thinking about the language barrier, to a shorter girl he bumped into. She looked his age with parts of her hair dyed a striking green and matching green lipstick on, but who was he to judge?
He was traveling in Egypt, Cairo to be specific. He felt out of place, though he's always felt like that, and was having difficulty with Arabic.
He was also lost - severely lost.
"It's fine," she replied back in Japanese, without much thought.
Kakyoin, however, was very surprised at this. "You speak Japanese? Sorry, I wasn't expecting-"
"It's fine I don't blame you. We're in a different country and I'm fucking Italian for Christ's sake," she chuckled, making gestures with her hands for dramatic effect.
"You're from Italy then. So what brings you to Egypt?" Kakyoin engaged in small talk, with a polite smile. Normally, he would just avoid talking to people, but something about her was just so... welcoming.
Karma looked the stranger up and down, whilst thinking of an acceptable answer. The young man was slightly taller than herself and wore a proper Japanese school uniform. He had fluffy red hair, with an odd long bang hanging to the side of his face. Despite this, Karma had to admit he was pretty attractive. He also seemed kind. "Needed to get away from everything. What about you?"
"Needed to get away too," he smiled before he felt himself freeze in realization. He held his hand out. "Wait, where are my manners? My name is Kakyoin - Noriaki Kakyoin."
Accepting his handshake, she replied, "Karma. So, is there anything you need? I'm free to help." She asked because frankly, he looked very very... out of place.
He gave an awkward chuckle. He was a bit prideful, so admitting he needs help sucked, but he was desperate. "That obvious? I'm kinda lost right now, and I'm having trouble translating." He pulled out his map of the area.
"Yeah, it's no problem," she said, popping candy - that she got from who knows where - in her mouth.
She leaned on Kakyoin's arms, oblivious to the way he tensed up upon contact, and looked at his map. She gave him directions to his hotel without a hitch, making the high schooler believe she's lived in Egypt for a while.
