The setting sun beamed through the windows of their small apartment in Naples. Though the roof had a few scrapes and pesky bugs flew through the windows, the two teenagers living there felt at peace.

Their gang - Cecilia liked to call it a family to sound nicer - grew with almost 100 members. Karma barely had to make orders anymore due to the new hierarchy system CeCe created, so she started to spend her time dancing at parties and occasionally creating short horror stories to scare the little kids in the neighborhood. She wasn't a good writer yet, but kids believe anything.

Cecilia, too, believes anything - like how she believed things could change for the better.

"Where are you going?" Cecilia asked in fear and worry, as she watched Karma pack her belongings like a madman. "Are you leaving me- us? I can't lead them. I don't-"

"Put pinky in charge if you really can't lead. I don't fucking care," the Zeppeli retorted, not looking at her friend. Her third in command was weak but Karma was sure his alter could be useful. Plus, he owed her after Sardinia.

"You and I both know he isn't stable enough for that responsibility," Cece's voice was steady but fragile. "You're the only one who can keep us safe. And you're running away."

Everything they worked for will fall apart if she left.

"I fucking have to." Karma's voice was eerie. She didn't raise her voice or scream, but the small cracks forming in the ground of their shabby house betrayed her emotions.

CeCe backed away from her. She gulped as she saw the green poke through their apartment. Though she didn't have a 'guardian spirit', she fully understood the power Karma possessed.

Karma's back was pressed against a thin wall, and she could barely keep herself standing. She was trying so hard to contain her anger. But she couldn't help it.

It was supposed to be a simple job - a simple assassination. Karma wanted to kill this man specifically instead of her subordinates. It didn't end well.

Now she was in a fucking mess. And her powers didn't help.

"Listen," she took a deep breath. "This old woman approached me this morning. She knew about my spirit. There are people like me out there. And they're fucking strong. Do you think it's a coincidence that the police almost caught us yesterday and she shows up the day later?"

Cecilia never could win an argument with her, so she remained silent.

Karma continued, "I'm going to meet this... spirit user somewhere in Egypt. He wants me to follow his old hag to Cairo," she scoffed. "Does he think I'm a fucking idiot? ...I need answers though. And if I stay he'll just cause hell for you guys."
