You pushed the large flappy kitchen doors open, the aroma of delicious food filling the air that surrounded you, your mouth already watering as you tried to make out what it was. The royal kitchen was busy, although very large, it was filled with several people hurrying from one thing to another, shouting out orders and instructions. One voice stood out the most out of them all; a man with a tall chef’s hat stood by one of the counters, his arms held behind his back as he stared at the others' work.

“C’mon everyone, dinner will be served in only half an hour!” he shouted, standing tall with a belly that you would always make fun of. “We don’t want to leave our rulers starving now would we?”

“Actually, I don’t think I would mind eating a bit later.” a voice sounded from behind you, making you jump on the spot and turn to where it came from. Jungkook towered over your form, seeming like he had just entered through the swinging doors.

“Your highness,” your father bowed along with everyone else who had previously stopped once hearing the Prince’s voice. “It’s an honour to see you here today.”

“The honour is mine Mr.Min. Please, don’t let my presence stop you, I just came to grab a quick snack.” he smiled kindly, eyeing all the workers.

“You heard the Prince, back to work everyone!” your father shouted and everyone snapped back to what they were previously doing.

“What can I offer you today, your highness?” your father asked as he drew closer to you both, acknowledging your presence with a quick smile.

“You don’t happen to have any more of those ready noodles, do you?”

“But dinner is only half an hour away, your highness, are you sure you wouldn't want something much simpler?”

“Don’t worry Mr.Min, I always have room for your food. It’s just some after workout cravings just like always.” Jungkook explained with his famous toothy grin, wearing his usual sweatpants and hoodie that he never minded wearing around the castle.

“I trust your words, your highness, but if I catch even one piece of rice left on your plate, I might accidentally throw out all the ready made noodles we have.” your father spoke teasingly, making your best friend chuckle next to you.

“Alright, it’s a deal then Mr.Min. But I assure you, not even a single crumb will be left.” he answered as you both watched your father walk over to one of the cabinets and reach in, taking out a single box of store bought noodles that you knew they ordered specifically for the Prince.

“Okay then, I believe you.” your father took a nearby kettle and poured the hot water into the noodle bowl.

“I believe Y/n wants one too.” your best friend voiced. You turned to him with a raised brow.

“I never said I did.”

“But I know you do.” he elbowed your side with a grin as you crossed your arms with a frown.

“Alright you two, grab your noodles and skedaddle, we still have to finish dinner by six.” your father handed you both the hot bowls of noodles, the chopsticks resting on stop with napkins around the bowls to prevent yourself from burning your hands. You both thanked him, walking out of the kitchen right after.

“Wanna join me in the garden? It’s not that hot out right now.” Jungkook offered as you both walked down the large hall of the castle.

“Sure, I have nowhere else to go anyways. I just came to say hi to my dad, but now I’m dragged into eating noodles when I’m not even hungry.”

“You don’t have to be hungry to eat noodles.”

“Point made.”

The sun was drawing closer to the horizon as both you and Jungkook sat next to each other under the shade of  a large oak tree, enjoying the taste of the noodles that you both ate, and the silence in the air. You grabbed the last piece of flimsy noodle left in your cup, bringing it to your lips and munching on it. You set your cup aside, not wanting to drink the water left within. Soon after, Jungkook was also placing his down, clearly done his as well. You both rested your heads against the oak tree, gazing off to the gardens ahead.

You thought about the call from earlier in the day, and what the three girls from school had told you. They said that you had to make it up to him, especially since he seemed upset about what you said, yet he seemed completely fine to you right now, and it only confused you. Even if you were to apologize, how would you? Oh I’m sorry I called it a misunderstanding when apparently it wasn’t. I do want to kiss you but, I didn’t know if you were going to kiss me, so I just called it a misunderstanding.

Nope, apologizing would only make it a greater mess than it already was. You just hoped that he had moved on from it.

“I asked you to come here cause I wanted to ask you something.” Jungkook spoke out of the blue, his eyes remaining on the bushes of roses of various colours that decorated the outskirts of the garden. You turned your head to look at him, waiting for what he was going to say next.

“You know how I’m leaving for Busan in two days?”

You hummed in response.

“Do you want to come with me?”

You raised your brows in surprise, not expecting the sudden invitation.

"I'd love to, but what about my school?"

"Oh, right." he broke your eye contact, looking away. "I forgot about that."

"But, I guess I could keep track from online and ask one of my friends for notes…" you tilted your head, your lips tugging up as you gazed at him.

"So is that a yes?" he asked, his eyes lighting up with excitement.

"I guess it is."

"Yes!" he cheered next to you, making you giggle as he acted much younger than he was. "This is our first vacation together. I haven't gone on one in so long." he continued with a grin. "Busan has some really nice beaches too, it'll be fun!"

You nodded along as he explained further, smiling unknowingly as you watched him speak with a glint in his eyes.

"Oh, I have to go now, it's almost dinner." he spoke, staring at his phone that he pulled out of his pocket.

"I should too, I have some assignments to finish, especially if we're leaving for a week."

"Sounds good," he said as you both stood up, dusting yourselves off. "I guess I'll see you in two days?"

"Yup" you answer, looking up at his taller form.

"Alright, I really need to get going, I'll text you the details later" he began stepping back, giving you a wave. You returned the wave and watched as he turned his back and jogged towards the castle.

You let out a sigh, with a small smile tugging at your lips.

You just wished that this vacation would turn up just as you hoped it would.
