The both of you spoke about random subjects for the past hour, eventually standing in silence for the last ten minutes, gazing at the bright city view across from you. Several room lights from apartment buildings were on, a few switching off once in a while as it indicated the late time.

You were both shoulder to shoulder, your mask long gone as your hair danced in the slight night breeze that made you shiver. Jungkook took notice of that quickly, and was soon placing his suit jacket over your shoulders.

You mutter a "Thank you" while barely making eye contact.

It was moments like these that made you wonder if you were even best friends in the first place because of how awkward and shy you got at times, but soon after you would be back to your normal self again.

Your stomach grumbled as your cheeks flushed pink, forgetting you hadn't eaten anything before arriving at the ball.

"Why didn't you grab something from the food tables?" Jungkook asked with a small frown, not liking the idea of you being hungry.

"I forgot." you looked away sheepishly, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"Well, would you like my muffin then?" he held out the half eaten muffin to you as you glanced from him to the muffin in his hand. "Don't worry, it's chocolate, your favourite."

A smile spread across your lips as you took a last glance at him as if secretly asking if he was sure. He nodded and moved it closer to you.

"Thanks" you mutter, taking it from him and pinching a part of the muffin, placing it in your mouth for the sake of not ruining your lipstick.

Jungkook watched you adoringly, a soft look in his eyes as he gazed at you happily munching on the muffin. He was unaware of the smile that was slowly appearing across his lips. His heart was swelling with several emotions that he himself couldn't pinpoint exactly. But he knew for a fact that they were the same ones that appeared every time he was with you.

Jungkook's mind shifted to the confession he had been planning for that night, and it seemed as if there was no better time than that moment there; where you were both alone in the silence of the night, looking out to the beautiful view.

He bit his lip as he thought further, even though he knew himself that he was going to end up overthinking everything just like every other time. But he had to confess eventually.

He gazed at the way your hair flowed in the wind as his navy suit jacket covered your smaller figure. You looked adorable in his eyes; the most beautiful women he had laid eyes on.

"Y/n" his voice called out your name softly, causing you to finally direct your attention to him rather than the chocolate muffin. "There's something I've been wanting to tell you"

You stared into his eyes that shimmered in the darkness of the night as he spoke, waiting patiently for what he was going to say next. While doing so, you licked the corner of your lip, tasting a bit of chocolate that got on it.

Jungkook chuckled at your cuteness.

"You've got some crumbs right here" he raised his hand and swept his thumb over the corner of your lower lip, watching the way your lip tugged under his touch.

He felt mezmorized—unable to pry his eyes off of your pink lips that were soft to the touch.

He could feel his heart beating faster as he was unknowingly leaning in, too caught up in staring to even notice.

You could feel your own heart race in your chest at his touch while his face began getting closer to yours. You couldn't tell exactly what he was doing, and if it was what you thought it was. You had to be dreaming, right?
