A groan left Jungkook’s parted lips as his slumber was interrupted by the agonizing headache that felt like he was having his skull pounded against a wall. His eyes squinted and blinked several times the moment he decided to open his eyes, the hotel room way too bright for his liking. After several eye rubs and internal curses at the brain wrecking pain in his head, he was able to drink in the surroundings of the familiar hotel bedroom.
“What the…” his hoarse voice trailed off as he leaned up on his elbows and looked down at his semi-bare chest, the buttons of his black dress shirt undone halfway. His confused orbs then caught sight of the colour red right next to him, his eyes following up to see you lying close to him with your dress still on, the back zipper completely undone.
The prince’s cheeks began to heat up instantly as his mind rushed to think of all types of possibilities that could have led to the situation he was in now. The problem was that he couldn’t remember a single thing. He couldn’t remember whether it was him who had zipped down your dress, or you who had undone his shirt, and why.
Could it be that you were both too intoxicated to know what you were getting into? Did you both actually share an intimate moment when you were both too drunk to think of what it meant?
What happened? Jungkook needed the answer to his question. He needed to rake his brain to remember.
What if you remembered?
Jungkook was now left chewing on his bottom lip as it all just remained a mystery to him. For now he knew there was nothing he could do but fix himself up and take a shower to get rid of the strong smell of alcohol that surrounded him.
He forced himself to sit up on the edge of the bed and retrieve his phone. He noticed a message from Mr.Choi from three hours ago.
Mr.Choi: I canceled your meeting for this morning and rescheduled it to tomorrow at noon. You’re free for the day. There’s pain killers in a bag by the door as well.
Jungkook’s brows narrowed once reading through the message. How did Mr.Choi even know about how the both of you ended up drunk that night? His eyes then fixed on the voice message he had sent the elder at midnight. Pressing the voice message, he listened to his drunk self talk about his missing basketball from ten years ago.
He was already drowning in embarrassment, and who knows what other embarrassing things he had done. Pushing his thoughts aside, he stood up to find the said painkillers by the front door to relieve the pounding in his head.
“I swear I’m never drinking ever again.” he muttered to himself as he took out the bottle of Advil from its box, and left to search for a bottle of water in the mini fridge. He swallowed the pill with the help of water, then set the water on the desk to button his shirt back up. His eyes then landed on your still sleeping figure, your exposed back still facing him.
He debated whether he should zip your dress back up so that you don’t end up rushing to conclusions when he himself didn’t know. After a bit of thinking, he finally decided to zip up your dress.
Jungkook neared you silently, taking in a deep breath before reaching for your zipper, and zipped it up as quietly as he could. You grumbled and shifted in your sleep, making him freeze for a moment. Once he was sure you were still asleep, he let out a breath of air he didn’t know he was holding.
Just as he was going to turn to get some fresh clothes from his suitcase to take a shower, the sound of a phone buzzing, followed by a ringtone filled the room. But it wasn’t his ringtone.
He watched you groan and shift in the bed, lazily reaching for your phone on the nightstand.
“Hello?” you grumbled into the phone, not taking a moment to even read the contact name. “Why are you calling so early?”
