You all remember that one hug between Maaran and Vetri right after Vadivu finishes narrating the climax?
That hug is half the reason for my unhealthy obsession with these brothers... Ask missnwrites she can relate... The climax is the other half.
So, here is the first of the 5+1 Feat Mersal series..

~5 Times Maaran And Vetri Didn't Hug And The 1 Time They Did~
1~
Maaran never went through a standard hard brained existential crisis. He never needed to, that is until he came to know he has brother who looks exactly like him.
At first, he thought he had the worst luck ever when it came to siblings that he had an evil twin who was destroying his life.
He actually also felt pretty sad because he always wanted siblings. He would have preferred a cute little sister but an identical twin was okay too as long as he wasn't evil.
Then, he came to know that he had a little brother, not a twin who was also just an emo sweet heart not much of an evil man with a plan.
Siblings usually have a unique bond with each other. It's a bit because of the gene pool and a lot because they grow up together.
He didn't grow up with his brother, but calling him a brother somehow came very naturally to him.
And somewhere between that long overdue hug and Vetri's second almost death, Maaran grew to care about Vetri not just as someone who shared his tragic past and had a link to it, but as a little brother.
Which is why it is ridiculously obvious how much of an 'uruttu peter' Vetri is....
Maaran was being reasonable inside the warehouse when he let Vetri do whatever he wanted with Daniel and his henchmen. But here, now, outside the warehouse as they were waiting for the ambulance... Maaran was reaching his limit.
Having exhausted his patience and also energy to give a f**k anymore, Maaran finally snaps,
"Dei... I am literally a doctor, if I am telling you to sit still because of the wound and the pain then you should."
Maaran says in a commanding voice that comes naturally to him. Vetri looks up and tries to object,
"Broooo, ennakku idhulaam pudhusu illa bro... I can handle it, vali la-"
(This isn't new to me bro.. there is no pai-)
Maaran cuts him off, "Vali laam illanu uruttu vidadha.... I'm a doctor I know how much that hurts."
