Damon does not remember how he got here.... is he grateful? Yes, massively. Is he confused? Yes, thoroughly.

If he had to present you a flow chart (yes stefan, I can make a flowchart, I just have an aversion for journaling because of all the feelings involved in the process. Thank you, very much!), he would probably start before they decided to go to nova scotia (yes that stupid thrice damned piece of land, uh hello stefan almost died, bonnie too and little gilbert too), the almost is where the actual story starts though.

Little gilbert was well on his way to being dead with a capital D-E-A-D, when this one girl who he definitely did not remember bringing to the island (he kept a headcount), had magically (metaphorically) appeared and saved him.

How did he know? Jeremy lived to tell the tale after all, then came the bazooka.... out of nowhere (literally), the hunters of the five had pounced on their little rag tag team as night began to settle, with all the intent to kill. No points for brotherhood.

They went for Bonnie, Shane and Jeremy (again), Stefan being the hero he was, dove to protect, everyone did, just not in front of a werewolf venom laced bullet (Stupid sacrificial idiot of a brother.)

The wonder woman once again came, saved their asses and healed Stefan. Before he could process the fact that she had a pair of very similar doe eyes.

She was not a doppleganger, she looked nothing like Elena (he had her right there to compare,) yet the eyes were unmistakable, the very same doe eyes yet somehow bigger. They sat explicitly well in her long face with those plumped blood red lips. The biggest difference however was that she was dusky, her skin shined like a ruby coated with emerald, there was no olive tanned fair complexion.

Before anyone could ask her anything, (who are you? how did you heal stefan? Why do you keep saving us? What moisturizer do you use?), she promptly puked blood and passed out.

She died.

Then she woke up.

A couple hours into the night. Stefan made her soup. Elena tried to look for a blanket. Bonnie produced one. Jeremy thanked her. Shane questioned her about Silas (he was obsessed, duh.) Rebekah kept her distance. He was the only one who asked her if she was a vamp?

She chuckled dryly and somehow everyone eased in as if it was story time (It was.)

She was not a vamp... She was a witch, which was how she had healed stefan (witch magic makes werewolf venom, witch magic can take it away.)

As for why she saved them, a simple shrug with a 'you looked like you needed help.'

As for how she came back from a very confusing death, well that ties into why she died, which ties into how she died, which ties into who killed her, which was Silas.

Silas was one of the early witches, he was a traveller (a what?) He craved world domination (typical) and immortality (again typical.) He was the first immortal through some shady means, the gist of which is on Jeremy's tattoo... but he was pretty upfront about world domination... one of the first things he did was committing massacres... kingdoms full of people... dead.

"We were competition... we would be his end... he knew it" she said, "we were the last kingdom he massacred before Qetsiyah petrified him... I was just one of the few who didn't die."
