This is also a muse fic, partly.

The character is Vishwa.

Police serve to protect. They protect those who are unfortunate, those who can't protect themselves, those who need and deserve to be protected. That's what Meera believed. As a child, she didn't get to experience that protection. Not until much later. That's why she became a police officer, to become a protector from someone who wanted protection. So, she swore to abide to her duty, no matter what it cost her.

But tonight, the cost of her job, her duty, makes her heart heavy.

Next morning, they'd be flying to India. To finally catch 'Anna.' Anna was a criminal, he needed to be brought to justice, Meera believed that. This was her duty, she needed to do it. But when she looked at Vishwa, she wishes that she didn't.

Because  as soon as they catch anna, as soon as the truth comes out. Vishwa's whole world would shatter down to pieces. She could already see that he was hurt, deep inside. Living in a country and with a family that wasn't his and never being given a choice about it. But he had abundant love for his dead mother and his absentee father.

When Meera was given this mission, she regarded with the regular steel in her eyes. But she groaned as she understood the circumstances of the mission and what her role in it would be. As she preps for the role, she contemplates and realises that this could either be the worst, most terrible mission she had ever done or it could be the best. It depends on the boy!

Then she saw his picture. He was strikingly handsome. He was cute. She then decides that the mission would be fun, at least until it got serious.

Turns out he was more than just handsome and cute. He was endearingly sweet and charmingly kind. He was a free soul, full of light. He was painstakingly innocent. He was pure. Even though he was hurt deep inside, he always smiled. He was just a boy nursing his wounds through his dreams.

And Meera had started getting attached to him, without even knowing it. She liked him.

And now she was going to destroy his entire world.

He had already lost his mother and now she was going to lead him to his father's dark truth. It would wreck him in ways she couldn't imagine. She wished that she didn't have to. But she did, for the sake of all the innocent souls she served to protect.

As she watches him innocently chatter away about how excited he was to finally go to India, she smiles. To capture this one last moment, she could have with him. She watches his sharp features soften in smiles. She watches his eyes light up as he talks to her. It aches her steeled her heart that love is emanating from them. Tomorrow, when she wrecks his world, he will leave and take her world with him.

In the back of her mind, Meera screams, she begs, she cries.

'I am sorry.'

'I am sorry I couldn't protect you.'

'I don't want to lose you but I have no choice.'
