y/n hearts the message and i smile, turning my phone off. "the pool party's at 8," i tell madison. "did your girlfriend text you that?" madison says. i face her, unimpressed as she laughs. "not my girlfriend." i remind her, going to text conan and gracie.
y/n's pov
i finish putting on my makeup, going to the mirror.
(what we're wearing)
i adjust the belt on my jeans, making sure they fit. "you ready to go?" madelyn asks. "yeah, ready." i confirm. "what, no sunglasses today?" madelyn says, chuckling. "no, not for dinner. maybe for the pool party." i say, and we leave the room.
we get to the restaurant dining room, sitting at the same table we sat last time, coincidentally in the same seats. the same band that performed yesterday are back up on the stage, preparing their instruments and microphones. i look through the menu, not realizing the seat beside me pulls out. i look up and to my right, seeing olivia sit down. "hey," i say, smiling. "hi," she replies, smiling back at me. she picks up a menu from the middle of the table, having to slightly stand up. she sits back down, opening it.
i look over to olivia, seeing her still looking at her menu. "what're you getting?" i ask her. "probably... chicken piccata. what about you?" she decides. "gnocchi tonight," i say as the waiter comes around.
i place my fork down, wiping my mouth with the napkin. "hey olivia, you should go up on the stage and play one of those songs you wrote!" gracie says. "you wish," olivia says, chuckling. "you write songs?" i ask, olivia turning her gaze to me. "uh yeah, sort of. i don't- it's just for fun, really." "you should go up and perform one." i suggest, smiling. "no way."
i look around the restaurant, seeing basically no one here. the performers were gone, instruments still on the stage, including the piano. "you should play, olivia!" timothee says. we've been nagging her all night, getting the same response.
"seriously, no one's here, the piano's on the stage!" conan says. olivia groans, leaning her head back. after a few seconds, she pushes her chair up, standing up.
