backpack on my shoulders, i pull my suitcase down the platform to get off the cruise. looking around through my sunglasses, the sun was out, sky blue with a few white cotton clouds scattered around. "there you are." a voice says, olivia appearing next to me. "way too many people out here, don't wanna get lost." she continues, moving closer to me as she pulls her suitcase along. "is everyone else still back there?" i ask, turning around before turning back forward. "yeah, i told them to meet at that big pole thing there." she says, nodding over to the red pole that stood out.

olivia playfully punches into my hands that was up, as if she had boxing gloves on. i sit on my solid suitcase and her right hand moves up to my face, smearing against my cheek slowly before it falls off. "k.o!" she says, laughing. i smile, shaking my head. "hey!" timothee says walking up to us, everyone else behind him. "you guys are so slow." i say, standing up. "what did you want me to do? push in front of everyone?" timothee laughs. "yeah, exactly that actually." i reply sarcastically.

"where did you park?" i ask olivia as we walk to where i parked my car, everyone else deciding to go home their separate ways. "we took an uber here, you have to pay for parking don't you?" she asks. "yeah, you do." i confirm, taking out my car keys i managed not to lose. i watch as olivia takes out her phone with her free hand, going onto the uber app. "you don't need to book an uber, i'll take you home." i offer, unlocking my car. "are you sure?" she asks, slowing down in case i was to change my mind. "yeah, i'm sure." i say with a smile, opening the boot of the car.

i lift my suitcase up, placing it in. i turn around, seeing olivia wait patiently. taking her suitcase, i place it next to mine, putting our bags in too as olivia gives me a thank you. i close the boot, hearing a man clear his throat behind me.

i turn around, seeing a camera being pointed at my face, a man behind it. paparazzi, i guess the only time i can take a break from them is when i'm in the ocean. "how was your cruise, y/n?" the paparazzi asks. "it was great, thanks." i respond politely. he shifts the camera to olivia, then back to me. "is this the girl you met on the cruise? i've been seeing you two everywhere!" "her name's olivia rodrigo, and yes it is." i say, smiling to olivia. "i'll sure remember that name." they have small talk for a minute, liv giving a nervous laugh here and there. "where are you guys going now?" the paparazzi asks. to olivia's house, want her address as well if you're gonna stalk us? "just... around and about, get used to solid land." i respond, moving one of my shoes against the concrete. "talking about you two, rumours are spreading that you two are dating. can you confirm these speculations?" he asks. olivia and i look at each other and i let out an awkward laugh, shaking my head. "no, we're just good friends." i lie, paparazzi buying it. we say goodbye, the paparazzi walking away. "how do they always find you?" olivia wonders, facing me as we lean against the car. "wish i knew," i say, smiling. "i bet they have a gps tracker on you, tracking your every move!" she jokes and i laugh, standing straight up as i walk to the passenger door, opening the door as olivia follows. "get in, darling."

i let olivia put in her address on the car screen, getting off the curb, seeing that it was almost an hour drive. i turn on my radio, going to my spotify playlist and hitting 'shuffle'. we stop at a red light, singing to 'no scrubs'. "no, i don't want no scrub. a scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me, hanging out the passenger side of his best friends ride, trying to holler at me!" we sing, bopping our heads to the beat.

"IF I COULD WRITE YOU A SONG TO MAKE YOU FALL IN LOVE I WOULD ALREADY HAVE YOU RIGHT UNDER MY ARMS!" we sing to the next song, olivia looking at me with a smile as her eyebrows are raised. "you got designer shades, just to hide your face and you wear 'em around like you're cooler than me!" she sings, tapping my sunglasses lightly as we laugh. "and you never say hey or, remember my name and it's probably 'cause you think you're cooler than me!" i sing back, turning right.
