Season 2 Episode 5-13
Amelia's POV
The bakery was closed on Sundays, so I spent the day doing laundry and ordering inventory. It was five p.m., and I had just taken food out to cook for dinner when I got a knock on my door. I walk to the door with furrowed brows, seeing a tall figure behind the blurred glass.
"Kelly?" He stands there with his black leather jacket on, his hands stuffed in his jean pockets, and a cute grin stretched across his lips.
"Hey...sorry to just drop by."
"You're good. I was just about to make dinner, you're more than welcome to stay," I tell him as I make my way back to the kitchen, grabbing a beer from the fridge and opening it before handing it to Kelly. "Thanks," He mutters as he sits on the barstool opposite the island where I was prepping dinner. "So, what's been going on? How's work?" I ask before taking a sip of my wine. I grab a cutting board to chop the red onion I had bought at the store earlier. There was this recipe online for lamb burgers, which I had never had before, so I decided to try it out. "Job's been good. But we've been having problems with Shay," I frown at him, gesturing for him to continue as I finish cutting up the onion, grabbing a small bowl to put it in. "She met some girl named Devon after a rough call she had, now she's been out partying and whatnot. After shift one night, Otis and I came back to our place to find the entire place destroyed and expensive shit was taken," My mouth drops as I stare at him. "Devon robbed you guys?" Kelly nods with a sigh, wiping a hand across his face. "And Shay transferred firehouses, so it's just been a hell of a couple of weeks."
"Wait, wait, wait, Shay transferred?" I frown while mixing the Greek sauce in the bowl as it says in the recipe. "Is she okay? From what it seems that call must've done her in," Kelly shrugs. "I wouldn't know. She won't talk to anybody!" I can tell this is making him upset. From what I've gathered in the past couple of months, he and Shay are or possibly were best friends.
"Maybe she needs to talk to someone? Professionally, I mean. If she won't do that then maybe she needs to hit rock bottom for her to finally realize that she needs help."
"Yeah, I guess," He mumbles, taking a large sip from his beer before getting up to stand behind me. "So, what are you making?" He asks as his hands rub my shoulders, slowly trailing down my sides until they're wrapped around my waist. "I'm making lamb burgers. I've never had it before so I looked up a recipe for it," I breathe, feeling him placing open-mouthed kisses along my neck. "I can't follow the recipe if you continue to do that," My head tilts back against his chest, feeling Kelly move my hair to the side, continuing to leave kisses. My breathing picks up as he sucks the skin on the side of my neck, right under my ear. "Kelly," I moan as my hands grip the counter, feeling him press against my back, detecting the noticeable bulge in his jeans.
"Okay, okay," He breathes against my neck, placing one last kiss before stepping back. Finally, I feel like I'm able to breathe again. "Do you want any help?" Kelly asks as he perches himself against the counter by his arms. "Um, yeah," I mumble while turning to the fridge to get the lamb out for him to start the burgers. "If you want to start making the burgers for me," I say as I grab another cutting board for him to put them on. "Here's all the seasoning," I place all the seasonings the recipe called for in front of him as I go to preheat my cast iron skillet on the stove.
While Kelly's working on the burgers, I take some of the onion I had just cut up, and put it in a large bowl, before cutting up some cucumber and putting that in the same bowl as the onions. In a separate bowl, I take more Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and dill that I had also chopped up, and mix that. Adding salt and pepper, I mix the sauce again before pouring it over the cucumber and onion, stirring it together then popping it in the fridge so it'll stay cold.
