Amelia's POV
Today was finally the day.
After postponing and changing the date so many times, May 20th was finally the day I was getting married.
I figured the boys would have more fun being with Kelly and my dad, so they were with him getting dressed in their cute little tuxedos we got for them. And here I was, wrapped in a silk robe, getting my hair and makeup done. Rebecca, my wedding planner, had gotten me the best hair and makeup crew in Chicago.
While I was getting ready, some of the other girls were getting their hair done. Sylvie was my maid of honor, and Stella, Caroline, Amanda, and Rebecca; from the bakery, were my bridesmaids.
"Something's bothering you, what is it?" Sylvie steps up behind me after the makeup and hair team are done, placing her hands on my shoulders as she meets my eyes through the mirror. "I'm nervous," I breathe out, running my sweaty palms on the robe I was still dressed in, "my anxiety is through the roof." I watch my sister through the mirror as she rolls her eyes, moving so she's standing in front of me with her arms crossed. "What if we go through with this and then Kelly decides that he wasn't cut out for married life," This had been weighing heavily on my mind recently. I guess it's a little silly seeing as he proposed to me... but now that the day is here and happening, I can't help but be a little nervous.
"Snap out of it!" Sylvie shakes my shoulders with a stern look on her face. "Mia, that man adores you! He worships the ground that you and those beautiful little boys walk on. I've heard my fair share of stories about him and his past, so trust me when I say, you've made him into a better man. So don't ever think that he doesn't love you or want this life with you...because it's the happiest I've seen him," I nod, letting out a short breath, feeling the tension and anxiety leaving me.
I remember when Kelly and I first met. I had honestly never been that blunt before, but I could tell from the moment that I first saw him, that he was going to make a big impact on my life...one way or another. And now that we have three kids? I can't see myself with anyone else, nor do I want anyone else.
"Okay," I mumbled, standing up to get dressed. Stella meets me with a champagne flute which I quickly chug down. "Let's do this," I grin, both Sylvie and Stella helping me into my dress. "Careful of the makeup," Stells scoffs, rolling her eyes as she helps slip the dress over my frame. "Who do you think we are?" Shrugging innocently, I smooth out the white gown before putting my jewelry on, finishing the look off with my white heels that have a white mesh netting that wraps around my shin.
The door opens and I peek over my shoulder, smiling at my mom who immediately starts dabbing at her tears with the tissues she had prepared in her hand. With her tears finally, at bay, she gingerly grabs the veil from Sylvie before gently clipping it into my hair. "You better stop looking at me like that or we're both going to have makeup running down our faces," A throaty chuckle mixed with emotion escapes my lips, not breaking eye contact with my mom.
"You look beautiful," Being mindful of all of my attire, I pull her into my arms, squeezing her tightly. She had been my rock these last few weeks. She and my dad came to stay with us, helping with the boys while we finished last-minute wedding details. "Your dad is going to cry when he sees you," She opens the door, revealing Rebecca grinning at me. "It's time," The large smile is unmistakable on her face as she ushers us out of the door. The girls gathered their bouquets as I grabbed mine, following after Rebecca to the entrance of the ceremony.
The only thing blocking me from Kelly was the white curtain in front of me.
As the girls line up in front of me, Rebecca ushers Hermann's only daughter, Annabelle, to the front because we had asked her to be the flower girl.
