Chapter 54: Mr. Fuegoleon.

The citizens of the Clover Kingdom cheered as we gathered around our own squads. Many of the soldiers waved back at the grateful, yet, scarred people of our kingdom. As different mages smiled back and said their "encouraging words", I just wasn't having any of it. I turned away silently as I was heading in the direction Asta was.

[I need to know if my brother is safe. That lighting spike didn't sit well within me and I'd be damned if I let anyone else die in my presence.]

Yuno noticed I wasn't next to him when he turned and saw I was leaving.

Yuno: Vannelope? Where are you going?

Me: *continues walking* To find Asta.

Yuno jogged up to me and asked while we both continued walking.

Yuno: I'll go with you.

I didn't even bother looking up at him.

Me: I'll be fine, stay here.

Yuno: Things should be good here. I can accompany you.

Me: Yuno. I said it's fine!

Yuno raised an eyebrow and stood up straight.

Yuno: What's the problem?

Me: There is no problem. I can handle this all on my own. You're more needed here than with me.

That sentence actually made me feel a certain way.

[Why am I fighting Yuno on this? I always want him with me but it's like, I can't help but argue with him to not go.]

Yuno: Come on Vannelope.

Me: What?

Yuno: All I want to do is help you and make sure you're safe.

Me: I know but I just don't...

Yuno: *cuts me off* Look what happened earlier. You got hurt and you started to lose control. I want to be there incase of anything. Please, let me go with you.

Me: Are you sure?

Yuno: Of course. I'll follow you anywhere.

I looked down at the ground when Yuno walked up. He tilted my head up as I made eye-contact.

Yuno: I promised you.

My eyes began to shine as my emotions ran wild. He let his hand drop as he took a few steps ahead. My head turned in his direction as he spoke.

Yuno: You got hurt again. It means I need to get stronger.

Me: And you will.

Yuno: You think so?

Me: I know so. You have the 4-leaf grimoire. You definitely have such grand potential. Just give it some time, you just need to unlock more of your magic and the secrets that lie within it. We are just rookies and just starting off. We have a long journey ahead of us and I believe, we will become the strongest mages in all the world.

Yuno turned to look at me with an exciting expression.

Yuno: Thank you. I can't wait to grow along with you, Vanellope.

********Moments Later********

Yuno and I were running towards Asta's last location. We turned the corner when I finally saw the aftermath of the fight where I had left Leopold and Asta.

Me: *Yells* There he is!

I squinted my eyes and saw that Asta was injured.

Me: He's hurt!
