The chatter throughout the rest of the day is noticeably tense. Normally, Bill and you talk about anything and everything that comes to mind, but you notice that he seems fairly distracted. The only reason that comes to you is your previous questions from the lake. Maybe you were a little hard on him. After all, feelings do like to muddle things and Bill has never had to deal with them before. You can only guess how confused and scared he must be.

Despite your efforts to keep his mind off of it, it's clear that you won't get any genuine conversation out of him. All his answers are only one-worded or a non-commital hum, so you decide it's best to just leave him be. You retreat to your garden to do random menial tasks to pass the time since you both still have about another hour before the official dinner date is to begin. You work the land, check for any ripe plants to take in, and keep an eye out for any invasive species that could harm your garden. You didn't want to go back inside so you focus on coming up with something to do while you're out here.

Once the time for dinner is drawing near, you take off your gardening gloves and duck into your bedroom. You pick out a light (F/C) blouse with long sleeves and a cute skirt that goes down to your knees. You doll up your hair to the best of your ability and even spice up your look with a bit of makeup, though you don't go overboard. You look at yourself in the mirror once everything is said and done. You have to admit you do look...cute. It does nothing to soothe your nerves though.

You take a deep breath from your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth. Okay, you can do this. You just have to crush all of Bill's dreams of dating you and convince him that what he feels for you isn't love, but maybe some weird obsession or stockholm syndrome. Your face darkens in the mirror. Yeah, that's not helping. You'll be fine, probably.

You step out of the bathroom and glance into the living room. "Bill, are you ready?" You lean against the back of the couch as you take a sweep of the house. "Bill?" You frown slightly, not spotting immediately in the open space. You tap your fingers against the couch and sigh, wondering if maybe he went out for a stroll without you. Then, you hear the click of a door behind you and whirl around to see Bill exiting your bedroom. You let out an involuntary gasp.

Bill is wearing the outfit you found him in several weeks ago. A white undershirt with black buttons begins the outfit, no wrinkles or stains to be found. On top of that lies a yellow tailcoat with a brick pattern trailing up the tails along with a fancy collar to hug his neck. The black dress pants don't have anything special to them, nor the black dress shoes . He also adds some accessories consisting of a black tie and, to your minor amusement, the triangular black eyepatch you bought for him. His hair is combed back as well, showing off the bleach blonde of his ends as well as the black of his roots. All in all, he looks handsome. Rejecting him just got a lot harder.

"Bill! Wow, you look...good for once." Words come spilling out of your mouth immediately and you consciously clench your jaw to prevent any more statements like that. Bill doesn't seem to take any offense though as he grins back at you. "You're not looking so bad yourself." A blush brushes across your face and you huff to try and ignore your embarrassment. "Whatever. Are we going to go to this dinner or what?" He continues to grin at you as if he's accomplished something as he offers his arm to you. You hesitate for a moment then link your arms with his, allowing him to lead the way out of the house.

It's 10 minutes into the walk when you realize you two aren't walking towards town. You're walking East, deeper into the forest where you know some of the more dangerous creatures live. Of course, you aren't nervous though it does beg the question as to where exactly Bill is taking you. You dare a glance up at him while you're walking and find that he looks pretty deep in thought. Whatever he's thinking about, it seems to have stolen all his attention.
